Salman Khan tops 2015, Bajirao Mastani set to take 3rd spot

Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo are the first and second highest grossers of 2015, respectively. Salman has become the ‘only’ actor since 2000 to take the Top 2 highest grossers of the year, twice.

The other actors who have managed to do so in the current century include; Shah Rukh Khan in 2004 (Veer Zaara and Main Hoon Naa), Hrithik Roshan in 2006 (Dhoom 2 and Krrish) and Salman himself in 2012 (Dabangg and Ek Tha Tiger). Read detailed article on Top 5 Highest Grossers between 2000 – 2014 (will be updated next week)

Bajirao Mastani is certain to take the 3rd spot. It’ll be either Dilwale or Tanu Weds Manu Returns that will occupy the 4th and 5th spot.

  • Bajirao Mastani(hit)could well inch towards superhit status. What about Dilwale? is it a flop or an average at the boxoffice? Post Dilwale underperforming at the boxoffice will Hrithik Roshan climb upto No 3 ranking behind Salman at no 1 and Aamir at No 2 in Top India 15 actors kindly clarify sir?

  • don’t know why entertainment tax is different in every state? they should take equal tax in all states. baahubali did more net business than bajrangi in india just because of these different rules.

  • I have earlier said that 2015 is next 2012… but No one believed me and Unliked my Comment….
    2012 2015
1 – Ek Tha Tiger. Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
2 – Dabangg 2. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
3 – Rowdy Rathore. Bajirao Mastani.
4 – Agneepath. Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
5 – Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Dilwale.

In 2013 SRK was at 3rd position bcz there was (were) not any movie of Salman Khan.
In 2014 SRK was again on 3rd Position and Now in 2015 again srk back on 5th position. And SRK fans plz Ye mat kehna k Dilwale 5th pe hai kyun k Clash hua hai, ye mat bhulna ke BM 3rd pe hai wo bhi Dilwale se clashed karke. So clash ka bahana mat banana. waise bhi kisi Bade star se clash hota tab Reason de sakte the par Ranveer se Clash hua hai koi reason mat dena nahi to log kya sochenge.
I can’t believe, SRK lost the battle to Ranveer. agar kisi bade star se haarta to koi baat thi lekin Ranveer se haar gaya!!! Lol I can’t stop my laugh.

  • @indicine you didn’t include all Hollywood movies but only furious 7 and if you include Hollywood movies then you should also include Hollywood and Hollywood movies

  • Some EPIC box office records Bhai created in 2015…

    1. Bajrangi Bhaijaan becomes the most watched Indian movie of the decade (ATBB too).

    2. Bhai has given his 9th highest grosser of the year. Maximum for any Bollywood actor.

    3. Bhai has given top 2 highest grossers of the year for record 4 times. (Queen did so only once).

    4. Bhai became the only Indian actor collected over 500cr in a single year (domestic nett).

    5. Bhai has crossed 1000cr worldwide in a single year for the first time in Bollywood history..

Hope he will rule 2016 too…!!!

  • Dilwale Verdict Pending!!!??? Dilwale deserves atleast a flop verdict as it has done disaster business in all the main circuits like Mumbai, CP Berar, Delhi / UP, Rajasthan, CI etc.

  • Plz correct some of the figures..
    Tamasha collected 69crs not 61crs

    SIB — 91crs not 87crs

    Drishyam – 77crs not 72crs

    Detective byomkesh bakshy -24crsnot 19crs

  • Sir Budget of Bajirao is High compare to Dilwale U already Declaird it Hit Dont you Think Dilwale Should also Declaire Hit :)

  • For the last 6 months I have been posting this many times:

Highest grossers of 2015 will be
    1.BB
    2.PRDP
    3.TWMR/BM
    4.TWMR/BM
    5.Dilwale

    My predictions came 100% true!

  • If Dilwale collect 140cr plus as per BOI then it will delare as clean hit if it remain 130-140 zone then Semi Hit

  • With due respect to Sallu, a superstar who gets both Eid and Diwali as his 2 release dates in a year taking positions 1 and 2 is not such a big deal I suppose. If a superstar can reciprocate it without the aid of festival period advantage then he is the real deal. If not for Diwal period i I wonder whether his PRDP would have crossed TWMR…

  • Masala films eara ended in 2008-13 era but official finish in 2015 after the underperformance of Jai ho Dilwale now happy time for srkians n worrying time for salman fans from now bodayguard ready type films don’t become Blockbuster

  • Happy New Year 2016 to @indicineteam your website is well updated.your every articles are very important.
    Congrats to salman .

  • The year has been great considering movies like TWMR, Dum Laga Ke, NH10, Piku……all women oriented movies doing good…..and historicals like BM doing brilliant business inspite of the clash with a huge multi-starcast movie…………Also, offbeat movies like Baby, Badlapur, Phantom etc., added to good business……..

Adding all this one can state that it is a wonderful year for Bollywood………and hope it keep the variety show running in the coming year too.
