The undisputed box office ‘king’, is equally popular on social networking websites too and this has helped him win a special honour at this year’s Zee Cine Awards (Link: Full list of winners).
Social media experts Asterii Analytics were hired by Zee to research and find out the superstar who command the biggest fan following on popular social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Youtube.
The results were as follows
- Salman Khan Facebook fans – 7,408,859 (currently 7,523,741)
- Salman Khan Twitter followers – 3,188,226 (currently 3,271,642)
- Salman Khan related Youtube videos – 60,567
- Twitter Fan clubs – 577,919
- Facebook fan clubs – 757,057
- Google+ – 2,774
“We used sophisticated web analysis tools to scan millions of pages on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, Blogs and online forums to quantify the total volume of buzz and conversations on our cine stars. A specially designed four phase methodology was used. And the winner was Salman Khan with a consistently high score on each of the mediums that was scanned” said a source from Asterii Analytics.
The other popular stars after Salman were Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.
The Zee Cine Awards 2013 will be aired on Zee TV on January 20th 2013.
