Ranbir Kapoor’s Roy has collected Rs 10.4 crore on its first day at the box office, which is the highest opening day collections for films released in 2015.
Even though Roy only featured Ranbir in a extended special appearance, the film opened significantly better than a acclaimed film like Baby starring Akshay Kumar.
Roy has easily taken the best opening at multiplexes, but surprisingly the film has managed to outperform Baby even at mass centres, where it seems the massive success of the music has helped big time.
However, Roy has dropped at most places today which is not a good sign, as Valentine’s Day usually boosts business by around 15-20% at major cities.
Overall, Roy could go on to be the first hit of 2015, but it has negative reports and the huge India vs Pakistan World Cup match to compete against tomorrow.

Roy has to face a lots of difficulties during its releasing time worldcup fever, exam time, clash with MSG, without Ranbir’s promotion, less no. of screens, bad reviews & wom in spite of all these negative thing Roy collected 10.42 cr on its 1st day more than Akki starrer critically acclaimed movie BABY.

Facts are facts! If Akshay is 60 Cr Club Star then what is Ranbir? I like him but if this movie collects 50 Crs, should we call him 50Cr star(Besharam,Roy,Anjaana Anjaani,Rockstar)?

@Ajinkya, Akshay struggle to cross 10 crore on opening day in his own movies with hit music. while ranbir has crossed 10 cr even in a cameo appearance. what else there to say.

Khan Kapoor, All of the last 9 or 10 films starring akshay have crossed 10 Cr opening except Shaukeens as he did not star in it!

SRK have proved his stardom with chennai express, full idiotic solo role but was a ATBB just because of him. How dumb are those people who thinks deepika can open box office when they already know the figures of finding fanny. salman still haven’t proved his talent as a actor , Aamir have not proved his stardom(dhoom was a brand unlike chennai express) but SRK have nothing to prove in this industry.
