Ranbir Kapoor’s Roy has collected Rs 10.4 crore on its first day at the box office, which is the highest opening day collections for films released in 2015.
Even though Roy only featured Ranbir in a extended special appearance, the film opened significantly better than a acclaimed film like Baby starring Akshay Kumar.
Roy has easily taken the best opening at multiplexes, but surprisingly the film has managed to outperform Baby even at mass centres, where it seems the massive success of the music has helped big time.
However, Roy has dropped at most places today which is not a good sign, as Valentine’s Day usually boosts business by around 15-20% at major cities.
Overall, Roy could go on to be the first hit of 2015, but it has negative reports and the huge India vs Pakistan World Cup match to compete against tomorrow.

btw just read a report that happy new year registered 9.3 tvm ratings on 26th january nd zee tv climbed to number 2 spot in trp ratings in that week due to hny.
last year chennai express also got record trps nd this year hny did.
where are so called haters who are continously calling it crappy new year etcetc.

Besharam with negative reviews collected 21cr on day 1 and now Roy with negative reviews and Ranbir in its an extended cameo us opened to 10.4 cr … So one can’t actually question RK’s stardom…
PS: Roy has got poor reactions, so I as a Ranbir fan hope that he stops doing any film as favor to his friends.

To all the people who think Ranbir has done an extended cameo..it is a 1hr role…Film’s title is based on his character Roy..So it should be counted as Ranbir’s film..
And the film is terrible.
Akki had similar role in OMG..It collected 83crs,tell ur Roy to surpass it..
Roy will become a flop, even it can’t cross besharam lifetime collection but its not a ranbir film otherwise Billlu was a srk film although Billu songs were more chatbuster than roy.
