Rowdy Rathore has collected Rs 15 crores all over India on Day 1 (early estimates). It’s a record for a non-holiday release, but the figures are about 30% lower than the first day collections of Agneepath and Bodyguard (21 crores).
As expected, the single-screen figures are mind-boggling with many centers recording 100% collections. At multiplexes, the occupancy was lower at around 65 – 70%.
Like with most big releases, a slight drop is expected on Saturday, but Sunday should be huge. We expect the first weekend to be around Rs 46 – 48 crores.

Update: Rowdy Rathore has exceeded our expectations on Day 2, as the film picked up at multiplexes. Single screens collections dropped slightly, but that was expected as the occupancy on Day 1 was more than 90%.
If the film manages to sustain at the box office, especially at multiplexes, it could well topple Agneepath to take the top spot for the biggest grosser of 2012. As for the first weekend collections, it’ll be similar to what we predicted yesterday – around 46 to 48 crores.
Update: After a great weekend, Rowdy Rathore sustained very well at the box-office during the weekends. SUPERHIT

akshay kumar’s shiva character reminds one of BigB’s character of Vijay from Don 2. where he’s cool and funny, macho and tough and street smart at the same time, he’s good at playing a clever thief, only he could of done it.
I’m not bothered if it’s not the highest grosser or atbb, all i want is akki to give big grossers and multple number cleans a year that would be bigger achievement
i am agree with mak. rr non holiday pe realese hui. isi liye wo 15cr kamai.agar salman ki film ki tarah nationl holiday pe realese hoti to 25cr asani se kamati.rr will do 135cr-140crand will be super hit.so it’s time for akshay.salman sukkkkkks.

Rowdy Rathore is simply outstanding, pure, wholesome, true Indian
full blown entertainer at its best. Rowdy Rathore is a tribute to the larger than life Indian Action Movies and is absolutely entertaining. Any Indian cinema goer who appreciates entertaining movies will love this movie whoever he or she is a fan of. It is an ode to Indian commercial movies and heroism which we all Indians love, and Prabhudeva with his direction an Akshay Kumar with his histrionics pull of this cult entertainer.
Akshay Kumar excels in both the tapori chor Shiva’s role and is splendid as ASP Vikram Rathore. He carries the movie on his strong shoulders with the able direction of Prabhudeva. Sonakshi looks pretty and emotes well. The child actor is good. The villian Naseer and his authentic rural accent is superb, and location is apt.
The movie has not one or two but four good songs. Pritam pyare, Chinta chinta, Dhadang Dadang, Chel Chebeli. The cinematography is okay. But the highlight of the movie are its fights and action choreography . It is executed very well and the audience loves it.
The audience were going berserk and I loved the movie… It is awesome, outstanding Indian Kitsch Cinema at its best. Rowdy Rathore roars and how….. Some movies go beyond its superstars..This is one such movie any one will like irrespective of the fact whether he is a fan of Akshay or not.

A stupendous film. It is a must watch for all hindi film lovers. It has everything that we have enjoyed in the last 40 years of hindi cinema like double role, dances, fights,songs, romance and suspense. It is a tribute to hindi cinema as we have loved it in the past, but to adapt it to todays day and age. Hats off to the south indian script and story and Prabhudeva’s direction. This film has been accepted by audiences all over India and even abroad, Akshay Kumar in the double role is outstanding and if he does not win and award for this film then there is no meaning in awards. He is a treat to watch as both the road side small time thief and also the tough and disciplined cop. He carries the film on his shoulders. He is marvelous in comedy as always, fantastic in the action scenes, dramatic scenes as the tough cop and par excellence in the emotional scenes with the child. Blockbuster.
