Akshay Kumar’s return as an action hero, has worked big time at the box-office. The target audience (masses), have thronged to theaters as Rowdy Rathore opened to a smashing response at single screens. The multiplex business paled in comparison, but considering Friday was not a holiday, the figures are very good.
The Prabhu Deva directed film is the 2nd biggest opener after Agneepath, edging past Akshay’s last release Housefull 2 by Rs 1.5 crores.
Even though it’s at No 13 in the ‘Biggest Days in History’ list, the distributors share of Rowdy Rathore is higher than some of the films that managed better collections.

its good news for akki fans that rr had very good opening.but remember dabangg 2 is also releasing on working day.and dont be surpriced if the difference between opening day collections of rr and dabang 2 might be around 15 crores.if rr opening day is 15 crore then dabangg 2 opening day might be 30 crore .but still till then akki fans can enjoy.but not for long.

Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan never fancied the idea of bumping into each other willingly or unwillingly post their historic spat. They make sure their entry and exit don’t ruffle feathers. So, we saw Shahrukh opting out of IPL 5’s opening ceremony as Salman was performing, if rumours are believed. Now, apparently, he will miss yet another event because of the brawly Khan – the IIFA.
The official reason behind Shahrukh’s absence at the event is that he will be off to London at that time to shoot his film with Yash Chopra. A friend of the star said that rumours of the actor’s presence at IIFA event to be held in Singapore are completely false as he will be in London shooting. His family will also join him there as Aryan and Suhana have their vacations on. The friend also informed that this rumour has made many fans anxious about his visit. But all should know that Shahrukh won’t be able to make it. Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma too will fly down to London in a few days.
This comes in the wake of Salman Khan’s reported appearance at the event. He is expected to grace the occasion. We wonder why these people take so much pain to avoid each other.
