For a film released against another biggie, Bang Bang has recorded the highest collections ever on its opening day. For the second highest collections during a ‘clash’, we have to go back a couple of years ago when Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardaar released on the same day at the box office.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan was released on 2500 screens in India, while Bang Bang has released on 3300-3400 screens (Hindi only). The Yash Chopra film released on Diwali day in November 2012 and collected Rs 15.23 crore.
Bang Bang has collected Rs 27.54 crore on its opening day at the domestic box office. The film released alongside Shahid Kapoor’s Haider.

But its opening is poor, very very poor.

Haider is a much better film than bang bang and the people are slowly realising it and thus the movie is suffering.

Even holiday with 3300scr and marykom with 3000scr had more shows than bang bang in my city….and not only in my city but most of the cities..
Even the morning shows were housefull..
I watched D3 in the morning show too but the occupancy was around 80%…
It’s good that finally a good movie won, haider deserved success because it’s an outstanding movie. The only reason bang bang earned less than 30 crores is because it is very boring and an outright copyof knight and day.

Very sad to see media and critics being so harsh to hrithik’s bang bang…since Khans are in top form now,they have completely dominated the media..ZOOM channel is always against hrithik,koimoi is a big HR hater,they gave 2 to k3 citing the plagiarism but ignored it completely while reviewing D3 n Ek villain.
Akshay kumar’s Holiday got mediocre reviews all over..inspite of that it got the love of public and emerged a hit despite a below avg opening…
Hr fan relax it was just first day. There are 4 more holidays to come so people might opt another holiday. So collection will be in the same range of 20-25 cr in next 4 day if movie is really good. Singham return had only holiday so most of the people have had to catch on that day. If product is bad then doesn’t matter how many holidays or solo release it has bound to fall. So just relax and wait till final total.
So a movie which released on 1250 screens is called as a biggie.. Really? @indicine, are you drunk?
I still feel Bang Bang would be a better movie than some of big releases like CE,D3 & Kick…But i m quite disappointed that its collections is only 27.54 cr (only hindi) when i expected it to go 35+ (only hindi) crs…
I am quite irritated to hear that it got only 3300 screens…when it should be releasing in at least 3800 screens…
However with positive word of mouth…i expect the movie to keep the momentum till Sunday so as to give a final collections of atleast 180+ cr which is required for a Super Hit status and try cross 200+ for a blockbuster status…

Yes its great to see the most positive strict critiK on indicine- the non manipulative unbiased Nipun Kumar now saying critiKs are too negative when he himself is the torch bearer for negativity…. Double standards and hypocrisy are words associated with him… Let him carry on weeping as he has reaped what he sowed…
For yrs this critiK kept saying Lunchbox, Lootera, Nasha etc etc were great films bcoz not audiences but critiKs loved them n rated them high but now he says that a film which critiKs are raving about like Haider is not ethically right bcoz its affecting his precious remake Bong Bong… Oh please cry me a river

according to box office india, bang bang’s total first day collection is 26 crores which is the same as kick
