Rakesh Roshan has once again slammed his colleagues from the industry who he says are ‘jealous’ and ‘can’t watch anyone succeed’.
Roshan also said that it is these very trade sources who are giving conflicting numbers of Krrish 3 “We are very sure of our box office collections. It’s the so-called trade experts who are giving conflicting figures. They should all come together and give one figure that is correct.
One other important point that Roshan makes is that the trade sources are not including collections of Tamil and Telugu versions which released in various states.

It is being said that the quoted box office collections of Krrish 3 are being inflated?
- Rakesh Roshan: Why should I fudge figures at this stage of my career? Do I need to? Who is saying all this?
Some of your colleagues from the industry, to begin with.
- Roshan: It just shows the kind of jealousy and negativity that this industry thrives on. We should all be celebrating the success of a film, no matter who produces it. Because every individual film that succeeds benefits the entire industry.
So what’s the truth about the box office figures of Krrish 3?
- Roshan: The truth is that those, who are being sceptical about the figures, are not calculating the collections in the Tamil and Telugu versions of Krrish 3. In Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, both the Hindi and the regional versions of the film were released. But in Mumbai they are cutting out the box office figures of the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions of the film.
Why are members of your fraternity so eager to prove your figures wrong?
- Roshan: Isn’t this the way it has always been in the entertainment industry? We suffer from the ‘crab’ and ‘grab’ mentality. We can’t watch anyone succeed. And if someone does well we want to grab that success for ourselves. The minute I took the unpopular decision of releasing my film in partnership with single-screen distributors I knew I was looking for trouble.
Why do you say that?
- Roshan: I haven’t become corporatised yet. I am the only major producer, who still makes films and releases them without tying up with corporate houses. That makes me an easy target for everyone in the film industry. Or so they think.
Are you saying you are arm-twisted because you are not tied up with any corporate houses?
- Roshan: Yes, there is a lot of pressure from corporate houses, film federations and union bodies. But we are very sure of our box office collections. It’s the so-called trade experts who are giving conflicting figures. They should all come together and give one figure that is correct, according to them. And they should stop talking nonsense about how Hrithik and I are at loggerheads over the figures.
Among the blockbusters of 2013, Krrish 3 collections was the most debated?
- Roshan: Like I said the trade experts chose not to consider my Tamil and Telugu collections, though the collections in those two languages were happily considered in the case of Dhoom 3.
So what is the exact collection of Krrish 3?
- Roshan: Up till now the movie has collected Rs 244 crore (nett business from India only). And it’s still showing in theatres. But I don’t think it will touch Rs 250 crore.

Boi is doing really very bad job.ramleela screen number is 2800+ ,but k3 screen no. is 3800+.ramleela has less hype.k3 had huge hype.ramleela ticket price is comparatively less than k3.k3 had gud occupancy in morning,noon and night on 2nd day.so it’s obvious that k3 collection should be higher than ramleela.

If Krrish 3 collection was fake, then Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan would never come several times to justify their claims. Actors mostly hide their faces when they fake their movies’ BO collection, but Rakesh Roshan rubbished the rumors twice time and Hrithik made a written statement and shut people up but yet the PR of SRK are trying their best to spread rumors so they can justify that Chennai Express record was save. CE record has been broken twice times, one by Hrithik and another by Amir, now SRK should gallop this fact. There has been a report recently where they mentioned than 2 A listed actors were forcing media to show Krrish 3 as under performer. Now I am 100% sure that one of them was SRK. Since it is not possible for him to see the record of his film being broken. LOL
As Rakesh Roshan said let all trade experts come together and decide it…One website will tell one thing the other will tell another thing…why blame Hrithik & Rakesh for that…
The fact is that Krish franchise is a widely accepted film in this industry. In 2006 Krish crossed 70 cr & Dhoom 2 82 crs…The histroy repeats now with Krish 3 crossing 244 cr & Dhoom 3 280 + cr. You take Indicine critics rating scale for both Krish 3 & Dhoom 3..Krish 3 reviews are good than Dhoom 3. When Dhoom 3 can collect 280 cr why not Krish 3 collect 244 cr..
In case of Dhoom 3 there were clearly signs of BOI overeporting Dhoom 3 collections. Also as Rakesh Roshan says BOI happily stated regional versions of collections along with Hindi versions every day. But for Krish 3 it just did it twice. This itself proves that BOI is not a reliable source and favors some of the actors…

@SS – BOI did not report K3 collections as 15.5 crores. They reported all versions figure as 21.5 crores. So stop tying to bring down the one honest site which refused to report paid and inflated collections. Rakesh and Hrithik just tried to pass off gross figures as nett. If you call Taran and Komal reliable then you are beyond hope of being convinced.

I just read that whatever sources are given on wiki has to be reliable, and surprisingly Wiki is only taking BOI as a reliable source.

It has become a big topic of debate like RA.One’s verdict. At this point, people will believe whatever they want to believe, I wish there was a site like Boxofficemojo in India as well. Least a person could do is to stick with his loyalty with a particular site, because I wouldn’t be surprised if some people complained about a particular site in future for their favorite actors despite of supporting it now.
In between all of this, they are missing the fact that Krrish 3 was still very successful and was liked by majority of people (who actually saw it), and it was a path breaking film in terms of technology.
@ G.One: If you go by BOI, than as per BOI, RA One (SRK superhero movie) is avg & Krish 3 (Hrithik’s superhero movie) is blockbuster. Hrithik > SRK.

Its only all trade websites that give this data. What is that you are going to find out in circuit wise breakdown. If some body is trying to inflate the figures than how simple it is for them to inflate circuit breakdown figures.
Ex: for 200 cr collection if i give following breakdown will you accept that it is correct & original:

Apply some common sense here the collections of films are reported by theatre owners to film distributors and distributors do it to producer. No trade analyst or website will know actual figures. So its only producer who know correct figures…

@MAD: He did not do VFX for free. He took 26 crore from them to do VFX on Krrish 3. It won’t matter if Hrithik headed to someone else for VFX. The result would even be better if he got it done by other company. And guess what Krrish 3 got only one award for VFX. Hrithik didn’t even get nomination for best actor award even though it was his best performance in his career. Even his flop films got him nomination for best actor. So it’s clear why Krrish 3 got only award for VFX. Who manipulated media, Filmfare and critics is also clear.
The fact is you can’t deny because it has already been reported that two A listed actors forced media to show that Krrish 3 underperformed so they can hold their own record. So who were holding record?? it was Amir with 3 idiots and SRK with Chennai Express!!

Hrithik needs his Pappa and inflated figures to be in the limelight
He has everything from looks to body to dance to talent. He has got the best debut possible from his dad’s help which made him an overnight sensation. But still after 14 years, hes struggling to be in the top 3.
It is just like the case of Yuvraj Singh in Indian Test Team. Despite being talented and consistent, He could not find a place till the time Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly and Laxman were there. When they left, unfortunately his career got over.
Conclusion is; till the time the Khans are in the game, Hrithik won’t be able to surpass their popularity.

Critics buy 1 ticket supposedly but majority of audience have no knowledge of who critics are so ratings make little impact on actual collections. Dhoom 3 may not have been as liked by critics than Rohit 3 but final verdict is a big 40cr difference…!
In an interview to times of india,rakesh roshan had claimed that gross collections of krrish 3 has crossed 500 crores, imagine what a big lie that is and if that was not enough now he claims that regional box office collection were so high that it magically increased the box office figures given by the trade people from 180 crores to 240 crores, when regional collections can go 15 crore max. Such blatant lies from a senior person like rakesh roshan is shameful. Sad.
