There has been tremendous speculation over the release date of Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees. The trailer, which was cut a couple of months ago, was shown to select exhibitors too.
However, the makers do not yet have a release date and it’s not coming out with this week’s release ‘Dear Zindagi’ which features SRK in an important role.
“It’s not coming out with Dear Zindagi for sure. I read somewhere about this news and no, it’s not true at all” Shah Rukh said, rubbishing media reports of the trailer coming out this month.
The actor said, he doesn’t know the date yet, but the trailer should be out sometime in December.
“I don’t know the exact date. Hopefully, it should release sometime in December… It’s ready, edited and censored. We are just trying to formulate a plan to market it. There’s a way we want to launch it” Shah Rukh said.
There is talk within the industry that the Raees trailer is likely to be attached to the prints of Yash Raj Films’ Befikre.
Raees is scheduled to hit theatres on January 26 2017. The teaser of the film was released during Eid last year.

@rejan the films which you are mentioning for madhuri they all have big stars be it tezaab , dil, khalnayak, ram lakhan . even if madhuri was not there those films would have been huge grossers. only raja was a film which has no big star but that came after hum aapke hain kaun. and also none of the films you have mentioned were a bigger hit than salman’s mpk, infact i think till hahk release none of madhuri films were bigger grosser than mpk. madhuri apart from hahk crossed mpk in 1997 .

@rejan madhuri is just like katrina and kareena. katrina nad kareena had also gave many big grossers but only with saleable stars. raja is one exception. for katrina also new york and mbkd are exceptions. a heronie can not be called a big star if she can’t give huge grossers without big stars. only a fool can say that pk was due to anushka and 3 idiots was due to kareena. they were aamir films and aamir films use to collect that much whether it was asin or katrina or kareena or anyone. giving maduhri the credit for films like khalnayak, tezaab, dil is like giving asin the credit of ghajini.
deepika is different from all of them. she has achieved big numbers with small stars. ranbir, ranveer has not achieved those big numbers without deepika. besharam never took a huge opening. it had a opening of 19 crore on a national holiday which is similar to yjhd which released on a non holiday. if barfi took a big opening then what was cocktail. before yjhd deepika’s highest opening day was approx 14 crore of race 2 and for ranbir it was 8-9 crore approx of barfi.
so the bottom line is people say that madhuri, karishma, katrina, kareena are big stars but it’s wrong. a heroine to be called a big star has to pull big numbers like kangana and deepika. both kangana and deepika has achieved huge grossers without any big stars with films like queen, twmr, bm, yjhd, piku, ram leela and many more. deepika is even ahead of kangana because she can give even big opening without big stars. how can a niche film like raam-leela took a 15 crore opening on non-holiday . bm collected approx 45 crore in weekend clashing with a masala film like dilwale despite being a niche film. take out deepika from those films , they would have struggled.
and what is most astonishing is that deepika is yet to work with any superstar but she still has given one 200 crore grosser and three 175 crore plus grosser. she is the first heroine in the history of indian cinema who is a real superstar and not fake superstars like madhuri and karishma.
