Ra.One is looking at a 3500 screen release in India. It could even go higher by the time the film hits the theatres. Bodyguard had a 2700 screen release on around 1950 theaters.
Ra.One is likely to have 3100 screen release on around 2100 theatres in Hindi and a possible 350-400 screens in Tamil and Telugu. In the South, it will be by far the largest release for a Hindi film that is dubbed in Tamil and Telugu. There will be around 600 screens showing the 3D version.
It is set to dominate multiplexes like no film before it as it takes up practically all the screens at multiplexes and that too at higher ticket rates at many places.
Bodyguard was the film to cross 1000 UFO digital screens on release with 1175 UFO screens. Ra.One is likely to hit the 1300 plus mark. A lot of the initial business expansion has been helped by these UFO screens as it was just five years ago that a blockbuster like Krissh was released on 85 UFO digital screens

one thing is almost certain(500%) ,raone will break opening day record and 1st week collection of bodygard by a huge distance.that itself is a huge achievement for srk.if that happens i will be the happiest person.i won’t be disappointed if it does not break 3 idiots record.in my opinion srk and amir are two genuine actors who got success in both offbeat and commercial type of films.raone ki collection dekhne ke baad 3 rd class actor salu aur auske 3rd class fans ko unke asli aukad pata chalegi.

Here’s the latest on RA.ONE. The much-awaited biggie was initially supposed to have the widest release in Overseas, releasing with 600 prints in the Overseas markets. But Eros seems to have increased the print count, in view of the tremendous demand and craze for the film. As things stand today, RA.ONE is expected to release with 904 prints [around 1500 screens] in Overseas alone. This includes Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions in 2D and 3D, all put together. Yes, you read it right!

SRK and Eros will open South Korea few weeks later with 200 + prints, while talks are on to release the film in China and Japan as well. Meanwhile, the film is expected to open at 3,500 screens in India on Wednesday.

Even as Shah Rukh Khan starrer Ra.One gears up for its big Diwali release, the film finds itself amidst a controversy. Yash Patnaik, a TV shows’ producer-writer, has accused the makers of copying his concept and has dragged them to court.
Yash claims that the concept of calling the villain ‘One’ was his and he had shared the idea of the film with Mushtaq Shiekh (one of the writers of Ra.One). Yash has asked for due credit or wants 10% share of the profits the film makes. He has sought a stay order on the release of the film.
However, in the case hearing that took place a short while ago, the High Court has observed that prima facie there has been a copyright violation, Bombay High Court today has directed actor-producer Shah Rukh Khan to deposit Rs. 1 crore with the court before releasing his ambitious Diwali offering Ra.One.
“The defendants (Shah Rukh, his production house Red Chillies Entertainment and Eros Entertainment) are directed to deposit a sum of Rs. 1 crore as pay-order to the court and then release the movie,” said the division bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice Roshan Dalvi.
this so called writers sue is rejected by the court today which means that ra ones story is original story by david bennuolo and anubhav and kanika dillon not by this con man yash

MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan today organized a special screening of his movie Ra.One for close friends and Team One at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai.
Director Anubhav Sinha, Yash Chopra, Gauri Khan, members of Eros team, Karan Johar, Arjun Rampal and Bhushan Kumar were amongst the guest list.
Since evening Yash Raj Studios’ premises were full of excited technicians & crew members who had worked on Ra.One for months, and today for the first time the complete film was being showed to few selected people. They too watched the film along with the special guests. The screening theatre was packed. Many of the guests present at the screening couldn’t control their tears.
Our source says, “Before the screening everybody knew they were going in for a very good film, as they have seen the promos – the VFX, the songs, the music, and above all – Shah Rukh Khan. But we were stunned. We now have no words to say. We are absolutely speechless, and so is everybody.”
“What just happened! Ra.One is beyond a movie. It’s just outstanding. The special effects of Iron Man are nothing in front of the effects used in Ra.One,” the source adds.
All the celebrity guests were shocked to see such brilliance, and everybody rushed to the director Anubhav Sinha. One guest went on to say, “Anubhav is now going to make Hollywood copy us! Ra.One is sheer genius, the movie is not just a superhero flick where there is a good vs bad battle, and it is more than that. It makes you cry, especially the journey of a relationship between father and son is beyond words. That will make everyone cry.”
Shah Rukh Khan remained unavailable for comments, but the man of the moment after the screening was Anubhav Sinha. Not a single person was such who went home without congratulating Anubhav Sinha, even after waiting for their turn for that.
After the screening Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, “Everyone seemed to enjoy the Ra.One experience at the trial.Allah has been very kind to all of us & I hope all of u appreciate the newness.”

Ra One is a sci-fi movie based on Gaming, Bad Guys and Super Heroes.
In the movie Shahrukh Khan plays the role of a father who is trying hard to ‘fit-in’ in his Son’s bad-ass world- A son … trying hard to ‘dude-up’ his dad from ‘aiiiyyyo’ to ‘yo!’ And a mother lost in translation between her husband’s ‘ingeva’ and her son’s ‘Inn’it!’
While Shekhar was trying every trick in the book to woo his son, get ‘dude-ified’ and ‘up his coolness quotient’ his son had given up on him..
Just when the father-son duo hit a deadlock- Shekhar strikes gold when he designs one hell of a game..
Finally it all starts falling in place…as the family comes together….only to find themselves in the middle of a crash, not just a hard drive crash but a crash that would drive them to a disaster and make their lives go – Kaboom!!!
All hell breaks loose when – the game that was meant to be played with… starts playing them… shah rukh khan in his G-ONE avatar doesn’t looks like a HERO… shah rukh khan’s SHEKHAR avatar is very unnatural…(i mean no one is so foolish as its shown in the movie) shah rukh khan disappoints. the main character of the movie RA-ONE is good but too Hindi movie type villain. The only one who stands out in this DUMB movie is Kareena Kapoor. she is beautiful n good. Overall the movie falls flat on its face. The climax of the movie is very irritating. The drawback of this movie is also its songs. There was no need of “Chammak Challo” song before the climax. the songs is put in the movie deliberately. The graphics of the movie are same as “Superman” which was released in 1980.
Final Verdict-
Don’t waste your money on this without brain movie. Watch “Margin Call” instead of this bad one.

here simple calculation : i have checked the advance booking condition in cities like delhi , mumbai , chennai , b’lore , chandigarh , hyderabad , jaipur , noida ,surat etc. .
3500 screens , and atleast 10-12 shows are running everyday , as ticket price are higher then ever , i take an average of 100 rs. ticket and 100 people per show
so 100*100 = 10000 rs.
and 10 shows a day = 10000*10 = 100000 rs.
and 3500 screens
3500*100000 = 35,00,00,000 rs.
take a 6% + or – and it is destined to gross 32 to 37 cr. on day one …
mind it that somewhere tickets are high as 800 , so 100 rs. average very low.. and same can be said for 100 audience in a show coz half of the shows in all major cities hvinf housefull …
in all , ra.one is looking to create a golden record on day 1 which will really take some getting to cross on day 1 ..
