Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is set for a bigger than expected drop at the box office today, as business has come down quite significantly at multiplexes on Monday. It looks like the film is set for a total of less than 15 crore on its first weekday.
PRDP had a strong extended weekend, but cracks began to appear as early as Saturday, when the ‘on-the-spot’ ticket sales decreased drastically on both Saturday and Sunday. PRDP was pulling through on strength of a good advance and also corporate bookings for the weekend.
While single-screens business is holding up well, multiplexes have shown sharp decline on Monday, with business down by more than 60% from Sunday. States like UP and Bihar are strongholds for both Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya films, and it’s in these circuits where the film is holding up well.
Mysore circuit has shown a significant decline as multiplexes in cities like Mangalore and Bangalore have literally crashed on Monday. Even multiplexes in Mumbai circuit has shown alarming drops, with the exception being the state of Gujarat where the film is enjoying a dream run.
Looking at the weekend trend (decline each day after a fantastic opening day) and the way the film is performing on Monday, a total of 250 crore plus is likely to be out of reach and it remains to be seen if PRDP can take advantage of a open second week.

So after the failed attempt of reviving the collections of “Zero” (By issuing autographed tickets to his fans), now this is a new drama of criminal to boost the collections of PRDP.

Update 6 PM:The film has picked up well in Mumbai, Bihar and UP but only at single screens. The multiplexes in Mumbai had a big fall as compared to Saturday or Sunday in theevening. West Bengal has almost crashed as per the coming reports. The film is super strong in Gujarat where it is doing record breaking business and if it continues its pace, it can went on to be highest grosser ever there.
the only reason of this kind of performance is this is not a hate story 4 of masti 3. this a family film . which youth don’t see for twice. IF it would not have salman khan and sooraj ji then i will be permanently rejected by them . so please understand the fact. IF it collect 250 then i think it is well enough for a film like this.
But our dear srk happy new year got 8 star cast. one month of slam tour . No 1 leading lady .also it was also a masala movie then why people reject it.

Secomd weekend will be adversely affected by Spectre. It will still continue a good run in some mass centres but Spectre is coming to take over multiplexes !
This is so similar to HNY’s trend. Will end up with 220 cr if continues to hold. Althought it has recovered costs even before the release and 220 cr is a good figure, considering the hype and hoola hoop, PRDP is a disappointment.

My dear haklutards & floppytards like babaji don’t worry, PRDP (which is probably the most rejected holiday release of the ultimate megastar of the last few years) will earn more than haklu’s biggest ever grosser CE & will almost double the business of floppy joker kumar’s biggest career hit RR .
PRDP had nothing except salman and i bet if it had any other actor apart from the ultimate mega star it wouldn’t have collected more than 150 crores even in the best case scenario , in bollywood only salman, sex & sleaze sell and the movie had none of the last 2 except for the megastar .
Salman is the only megastar who can do a movie as masaledaar as dabaang or as sugary & sweet as Bajrangi bhaijaan or as unadulterated & as pure a family movie as PRDP in this age and still be more successful than any other superstar of his generation , i won’t be lying that PRDP disappointed me , not bcos it was bad but i was expecting a lot many things from the great jodi !
