Like we mentioned in our box office report last evening, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo was steady on its 6th day at the box office. The film has added Rs 12 crore on Tuesday. The total collections in India now stands at Rs 155.43 crore.
The first week business will be around the 165-166 crore mark and the 8-day business is likely to be in the 175 crore range.
PRDP has no competition from Hindi films this weekend, but a Hollywood biggie ’Spectre’ is getting a massive release at multiplexes. The James Bond movie, which is also releasing in Hindi, is likely to affect the multiplex business of PRDP.
Salman’s 2nd highest grosser is Kick, which collected Rs 233 crore during Eid last year. Can Prem Ratan Dhan Payo surpass the collections of Kick, or will it finish as Salman’s 3rd highest grosser – is something that remains to be seen.

I am back on Indicine after 4 Days . PRDP is doing ok business but it will be disappointing for Salman fans and trade because they expected a lot from this movie . The first day collections are 41.75 CR which includes Hindi+Tamil+Telugu Collections but in this article you are saying 40.35 CR . I am telling you that you should add Tamil and Telugu collections as well because they are also an important part of domestic collections .

There is lot of speculation going on budget of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Reason for this is a very popular trade analyst has published the budget of PRDP as above 200 crore. Which is absolutely false. PRDP is a safe proposition and no need of worry. The way film is performing it will be a profitable venture for both Fox and Rajshri. In fact film is already entering into Hit zone.
Only question is whether film can attain Super Hit or Blockbuster status or not. Coming to PRDP budget. Film cost is around 100crores without Salman Khan fees. Plus, publicity and advertising cost is somewhere between 25-30 crores. Thus, film landing cost is huge 125-130 crores. Here Salman Khan fees is not included as his term with Sooraj Barjatya is like a family.
What is heard that Satellite right deal Salman has done with Star is his fees right now. If Rajshri makes good profit from PRDP then he might get his further profit sharing.Economics of PRDP- Landing Cost- 125-130 crores [P& A inclusive].Satellite Rights- Around 50-55 crores [Salman Khan fees].Other Non theatrical recovery- Around 20 crores from Music Other Rights.Required Recovery from India and Overseas Theatricals- Around 105-110 crores needed for break even.
