Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has taken a earth-shattering opening at the box office and sample collection from 5 out of 8 theatres that we have received so far, suggests that the film is set to record highest single-day collections at their respective theatres. In fact, at one theatre, PRDP has already set the record for the highest Day 1 with one show to go.
At places, the opening has been slightly below-the-mark, which could be because of the genre of the film. Family dramas haven’t performed well in recent times, and even if they do, such films grow on word-of-mouth publicity.
In the South, there are reports that the business of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo was affected by two massive films – Kamal Haasan’s Thoongaa Vanam and Ajith’s Vedalam – both films featuring two of the two superstars from the south released on November 10 and are still going strong. There was also a Telugu film Akhil, the teaser of which, was launched by Salman Khan himself.
It’s still a little too early, but PRDP is on course for a 40 crore plus opening day. Business from regional versions - Prem Leela in Telugu and Meymarandhen Paaraayo in Tamil - could well decide if the film breaks the record set by Happy New Year last year. Stay tuned for a late night early estimate, which should be published at around 2AM.
until now I posted rarely on indicine but this much negativity for a beautiful film made me comment here and thrash all person who take double standard for them ra1 and hny r classics and kick and dabang is overhyped film.

for hindi version its around 41 cr and other 2cr so 1st day collection 43 cr thats massive in this genre you cant imagine better than this

Going by the critics and few of my diehard Slamaniac Friends I am writing this.
For a movie like this three things are most important. First Acting Second Music Third Pace of the movie. In Prem Ratan Dhan Payo you will find all three lacking. Not talking about Salman Khan as Prem is his trademark character but Sonam as Maithili is the biggest drawback. Prem’s lady love should be gorgeous as well as excel in acting but Sonam Kapoor lacks the latter. Anupam Sir does so many movies in a year that you can not expect something new every time. Armaan Kohli should be hanged till death he doesn’t even know dialogue delivery.
Rest were ok. My friends were only impressed by Swara except Salman.
Second was Music. With so many songs in a movie this feature is a gamble. Himesh is one of the best music director in recent times but in this movie he lacks consistency. His music is good but no way near his other works.
Third Was Pace. The movie is quite or I guess we have been developed in such a manner that we are used to movies which end under 150 mins. You can watch a thriller or out and out comedy movie but not a movie with lots of dramatic occasions. Sad but true. PRDP is a good movie but still falls short of the previous works of the ACTOR-Director Combo just like PK HNY JTHJ Etc. And PK is a movie I will nvr recommend but one can give a watch to PRDP.
