Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has taken a earth-shattering opening at the box office and sample collection from 5 out of 8 theatres that we have received so far, suggests that the film is set to record highest single-day collections at their respective theatres. In fact, at one theatre, PRDP has already set the record for the highest Day 1 with one show to go.
At places, the opening has been slightly below-the-mark, which could be because of the genre of the film. Family dramas haven’t performed well in recent times, and even if they do, such films grow on word-of-mouth publicity.
In the South, there are reports that the business of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo was affected by two massive films – Kamal Haasan’s Thoongaa Vanam and Ajith’s Vedalam – both films featuring two of the two superstars from the south released on November 10 and are still going strong. There was also a Telugu film Akhil, the teaser of which, was launched by Salman Khan himself.
It’s still a little too early, but PRDP is on course for a 40 crore plus opening day. Business from regional versions - Prem Leela in Telugu and Meymarandhen Paaraayo in Tamil - could well decide if the film breaks the record set by Happy New Year last year. Stay tuned for a late night early estimate, which should be published at around 2AM.

It remains to be seen if it crosses the magical figure of 44.97 CR set by HNY last year. No doubt weekend collections will be huge as most of the weekend shows are almost full. But considering the reviews coming out from different fan bases, a crash is inevitable from Monday onwards.

Let me start with His Royal Highness His Majesty Maharaj Vijay Singh….
I am not gonna write much on the story of the film…
This film is not about Marriage or a so-called Shaadi DVD at all unlike some people with negative mindsets presume or say with a predetermined mind.
It is story of troubled and estranged siblings of Royal Family that ends with uniting all the family members happily. It is a typical Sooraj Barjatya film, a director who is positive all the time, only knows how to give love and likes to show how to share selfless bonds in a family.
First of all, the film is truly grand looking, lavishly shot, funny, clean and romantic.
While Maharaj Vijay Singh truly got into the skin of the character like a real king. His walking style, talking style and body languages truly depict him like a real king. He had a short screen time but he excelled.
Secondly, it was the Vijay Singh look alike Prem Dilwala who happens to replace Vijay Singh when the king was under medical care after escaping an assasination attempt. Prem is cheering, endearing, loving, funny, simple and entertaining…. He will sure entertain the audiences.
Though the film is long but it will never bore you due its engaging positivity, funs and love.
Plus, it has amazing sword fights in the climax which will compensate you if you find some dull moments.
It is a great to see how Royal Families give their daughter to a common man so happily. It is something we need to learn from. No discriminations! All human beings are equal.
For me, I feel the plot of the movie a bit loos. The plot why the siblings got estranged should be more tighter, stronger and filled with suspenses.
And I didnt like the scene of the football match shown in the movie. It was a bit ridiculous.
Having said that, I say this movie will engage the audiences who like to stay positive and chilled by watching some grand cinema. Its cinematography is excellent.
This movie is not for those who likes to be negative and like the films with negative plots.
Sooraj is positive and clean. So is his film. Such films are rare today. I hope this film will be a pathbreaking movie and make ways for other filmmakers to make positive films nowadays instead of making films on sex or gangsters.
It is a perfect gift for audiences who want to celebrate with their families in Diwali. As WOM spreads, the families will throng to the theatres in groups.
Go and watch it. And learn how to be positive in life.

response is very poor….if it cross 250 cr that is a big deal…no chance of breaking pk lifetime collection….as i said before shehanshah khan has his own league…he first creates then breaks his own records…so pk record is safe until dangal arrives….prdp failed..and same will be the case with dilwale sultan raees…they might be a huge hit… but they can’t stand even close to pk…

@komal nahi nahata – pk was a gem movie..it has its own league…please don’t compare it with other movies…bajrangi was good…but nowhere close to pk and far far better than ce/hny….but prdp can’t be compared with bajrangi ….it is better than hny but it lacks repeat value…
PRDP can’t cross last year Diwali release HNY(178cr) mark my words
