PRDP Saturday Box Office Update

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is looking at another solid day at the box office as the film is likely to collect a little less than 30 crore on Saturday. The Salman Khan starrer dropped in the morning, but business has picked up quite significantly evening onwards.

As of 8:30PM on Saturday, the advance booking for the night shows at multiplexes is good and families have come out in big numbers to watch the film.

The 3-day business is likely to come in the 100 crore plus range, for the Hindi version only, which would be fantastic since it only had one major holiday in its first 3 days at the box office. The film would then be targeting 4-day weekend business of 135 crore plus.

On social media, the response to PRDP has been mixed, but such films do hold tremendous appeal at smaller centres. Barjatya’s last film Vivah was rejected by the critics, it didn’t do well in metro cities either, but was a record grosser in a circuit like Bihar.

  • Collections are very good up till now..this film is having an added advantage of one more extra day in its weekend giving it an extended 4 day weekend at the box office..this one day whether it is a holiday or not matters a lot because it comes under the weekend where star power is a bigger driving force than any other factor and the kind of star power salman Khan has we can say that these collections are largely because of him..collections on Monday will give us a clear picture..even if the word of mouth is same as Happy new year still the film will cross the lifetime collections of happy new year by the end of its run because of the huge extra day in its first weekend..if the word of mouth turns out to be poor then it will be touch and go and if the word of mouth is on the positive side then it can emerge a huge hit and for that it needs to drop less than 60% of its opening day on Monday..

  • @sri lankan fan 11:04 pm : For that, you will have to release PRDP on all the screen available in Srilanka, still I doubt if PRDP’s India collection+ PRDP Srilanka Collection will cross 300 cr mark. Keep dreaming !!

    @Chuhe 11:21 pm : Sadly, no criminal/murderer movie crossed 100 cr without Kabir and Masala genre.
    @11:28 pm : And what if it won’t ? Again you will back off shamelessly? Answer me !!!

    @Shaggy 11:23 pm : I will continue to ask until you answer. What are you doing here? Don’t you have any shame? Should I remind you again and again what you had committed ?

    @Jhand the fake 11:26 pm : First of all, stop using this word “Gorilla” for others. Whole world knows there is only one Gorilla faced creature in Bollywood. And that is none other than criminal khan :P
    Yes, for the first time, I stand with your statement. This is indeed the most unfortunate thing happened as I went to watch a crap like PRDP. Still I am repenting why I opted for it. but don’t worry, I am all set to thrash those idiots who planned for it. I am waiting for Monday, when I will join them back in office ;-)
    @11:32 pm : because it was all started by you morons. Every SRK release bothers you more than SRK fans. So we are just giving it back. Why burning now?

    @Komal 11:40 pm : Valid points (y) !!!

    @bajanpakistani 12:07 am : There is a simple option for that. Hit “dislike” button and move on. Just because you are not interested in my opinion, it doesn’t mean I should not post it at all !!
