PK: Ticket prices won’t be hiked for Aamir Khan – Rajkumar Hirani film

Here’s some good news for fans who are waiting for the most-anticipated release of 2014. Reliable sources have informed that the ticket prices of the Aamir Khan – Rajkumar Hirani film won’t be hiked.

The decision to keep the ticket prices normal, thereby getting more people to watch the film, was taken by Aamir Khan.

“The team feels that the film is universal and everyone should be able to see it,” said Aamir’s spokesperson in a statement released to the media.

With the release of a big film, exhibitors across the country increase ticket prices. However, Aamir Khan was adamant not to effect any change in price.

The ticket price of PK will be lower than KICK and Happy New Year.

  • Mind you, the b-grade comment was for you @sss

SRK has a pretty smart fan-base as well. yy mithaiywala is a genuine srk fan here on Indicine and he doesn’t spread negativity deliberately.

I’d quote Rajeev Masand, “A ruptured appendix would hurt less than arguing with a b-grade fan like sss”

  • @sss HNY flopped because of SRK’s poor stardom. He should retire now as he is looking ugly and old and cannot even act. His stardom is zero.
HNY got buzz due to BJP, otherwise it would have struggled to cross even 120 crore.

    itna karo jo possible ho

  • Good desicion because he is not salman srk they needs nothing even thier product with low content with high prices is acceptable while amir have to deliver superb content with cheap prices to remain in the league of srk and salman

  • PK already started underperfom now Alien going to Sachin to boom advance booking…. giving out statements prices not hike…lol

Almost everywhere tickets avaible. amir fans do not expect 30cr opening or max to 30 to 35 cr..now test for Amir khan…. self proclaimed Miss perfectionist….star power…lol

if srk would be in Pk with hirani definetly 55 cr opening.
example HNY with farah khan 45 cr.

  • @sss khan is illiterate as can be seen from the comment he made,he has no idea of trade whatsoever..he has been on indicine since time immemorial but has’nt left his habit of writing inane comments..
ROFL at his comment–BJP distributed HNY’s pirated CDs otherwise it would have broken D3’s record…lol

  • The ticket rates have been increased..i had watched happy new year for rs 200 which was the highest i paid for a film but today i booked my ticket for PK and it was rs 250.. So there is an increase in price

  • @ceiling fan 50 paisa

If Aamir would have starred in hny and released on a holiday then it would have crossed 50 Cr and would have broken d3 records….. That’s t the power of Aamir…. The baap of sarook

  • Oh yes.Tickets rates are low and now we will watch PK as we have habit of watching DDLJ in low ticket rate at Maratha Mandir

  • This is completely false as far as tickets in Kolkata are concerned. Places where movies like Kick, Bang Bang, HNY had Rs. 90/- for a morning show is now priced at 130/- or more.

  • Extremely false news, may be Aamir and team don’t requested for hiked rates, but its not happen,I have searched that rates are equal to kick and even higher than 5-10% than kick, don’t know about hny as I didn’t watched that film in theatre.
Practically since last 50 days exhibitors and distributes suffered from huge loss, so its bound to be that exhibitors will increase the rates, because even after PK there is not a much popular film which draw huge crowd at least next 3 month, so they can’t even agree withAamir req as they need to compensate those loses.
Today is the last day if celebration for Anti Aamirians and tmrw onwards it celebration time for Aamir fans.
@babaji seriously you even read our complan kid comment, I Even don’t bother to read his non sense from long time.
@gauravv the so called @sss fav movie is MNIK, best romantic film Is jthj, best performance ever by any actor is Srk mnik act.Hny is patriotic film and Rang de basanti is crap. What else we expect from complan kid.

  • Not true. In Bangalore a Multiplex ticket on weekend is 30 rupees higher than Kick. May be Aamir referring to single screens ticket prices or theatre owners may have hiked to rake moolah using Big movie with Big name !!!!!!!!!

  • Get set to experience a memorable movie from Aamir Khan and Raju Hirani!!! In your nearest theatres tomorrow!!!

    !!!PK!!!

  • @gauravv…@sss is like bhains ke aage been bajaana..no point in arguing with a dimwit who says BJP workers distributing HNY CDs affected it’s collections..

Let us all enjoy the movie rather than listening to these losers!!

  • what a hypocrite and liar is Hirani, ticket prices are already being hiked by 15-20 percent, please check the media reports, indicine please research on this. This shows duality in character of both aamir khan and hirani, their ugly and greedy faces are masked by fake integrity, when dhoom3 released at that time also ticket prices were hiked and then he tells that they dont think about 200 or 300 crores club, what a shame. If prices are hiked they shoudl be honest about that and dont fool the people

“The new trend of increasing the ticket rates of big starrer movies from past couple of years has been a topic of debate between the distributors and exhibitors. But, it is the audience who bares it all on their pockets. This time around the scenario is bit different with one of the top exhibitors, Manoj Desai, Executive director of G7 Multiplex (Gaiety Galaxy) and Maratha Mandir Cinema, who has decided to shelve Aamir Khan’s PK over a disagreement of increasing the ticket rates.

Talking exclusively to Koimoi, Manoj Desai said, “I was not allowed to open the advance booking for PK and was asked to increase the ticket price from Rs 80 & 100 to Rs 150 & 250 for lower and upper stall respectively. I was given a condition that unless I increase the ticket price I won’t be given the film and hence with due respect to Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani, I preferred shelving the film instead of taking undue advantage of my patrons, my public coming to my theatres by increasing the ticket rates. The discussion continued for two days with Mr. Vinay Choksi of VIP Enterprises who book my theatres, and he was not ready to give me the film if I did not agree to their terms of hiking the ticket rates. Hence, after an unsettled meeting last evening, I decided to shelve the film.”

  • Indicine u report price wont be hiked. But reports that for the 1st time gaity galaxy nd maratha mandir wont screen pk as producer hike price more that double. Whats that? Without hiking price pk wont be able to business.so give true report.
