Limited release, competition from the other film and negative reviews from critics – none of it stopped Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobara from opening to packed houses all over.
According to Balaji Motion Pictures, the film has collected Rs 14.2 crores on its opening day, which is excellent considering the fact that it released on around 1600 screens. Also in Rajasthan the film released only after 3PM.
Today is expected to be even better as OUATIMD will have a full-fledged release all over. Many more screens (about 2500-2550) and many more shows at multiplexes due to the great response yesterday, could result in weekend collections exceeding the 50 crore mark.
Growth in business on Saturday and Sunday will be crucial if OUATIMD has to recover its high costs. The total investment is about 80 crores.

Public are liking the product, critics are not. So was the case also with Gadar. Only Sunny paji could have made us believe in the lifting of hand pump. Same is the case with OUATIMD, you will clap at each dialogue delivery of Akshay.

ONly one word for SR paiKhan fans! They are hate filled idiots! 1200 screens – 14.2 crores. Froday is a workign day and not an Eid day! Besides, I know majority of Muslims dont watch Hindu actors’ movies. So 12 crores on a working day is simply awesome! Despite SR paiKhan’s back stabbing act, OUATIMD is making so much money. Kudos to Akshay for having given a sterling performance against all odds! He is the real super star!
