Soon after Vivek Oberoi made his debut in Bollywood with ‘Company’, he was considered to be one of the most promising newcomers in the industry. Infact, there was a time when he was compared to Hrithik Roshan, as the next-gen superstar.
Unfortunately for him, his alleged relationship with Aishwarya Rai and the infamous press conference against Salman Khan, led to his down fall.
Asked if he regrets the way his career has shaped up, Vivek, who married Priyanka Alva in 2011 says “No regrets, my wife still feels that I am the best.”
The 35-year-old actor, who has films like the mega-budget Krrish 3 lined up for release, is now gearing up for his solo-film ‘Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story’, which is about two completely different people. Directed by Vinnil Markan, the film also stars Neha Sharma.
“Jayanta is a very different character. The film is about two people from different world. There is chemistry, there is attraction but they are from two different planets. The girl is educated and polished, while Jayanta is someone who is streetwise. He does not even know how to talk to a girl and that is the fun of it” Vivek said.
Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story is scheduled to release in October this year.
He remains for me better than Hrithik…and for sure one of the best actors from Bollywood …wasn’t good his choice with trASH and the conference about Salman….but still i like him :)
Judging from the opportunities, of course he is much better than Hrithik. He still is one of my favorite actor.
i am a salman fan but i feel sorry for this guy cause i truly believe he suffered alot not not because of salman but because of aishwaria who used vivek to get out of this issuse. ash used salman, bhansali, vivek for her career and when she going nowhere she caught the big fish which son of mr bachan. she also wanted to use srk but srk dont fall for cheap girls like her. is not that i hate ash , i hate peope who use other for their own success, right now she is nowhere. khans are still ruling and hrithik is tere too but poor vivek

Poor that industry boycotted him..coz of Salman..but he was being a good boyfriend…who didnt know that Aish is just playing…
he is good no doubt but comparisions with hrithik is not fair.
hrithik, inspite of several flops in his early carrier emerges as star but vivek failed to do so….
No doubt vivek was doing tremendous works..he was in same league with hrithik..but 1.affair with aish 2.false allegation against salman bhai 3.refusing HUM TUM spoiled his career..specially his relation with aish..really feel bad for him..very bad..
even ppl like paresh rawal,johnylever etc are gud actors but plz dont compare thm wid hritik…vivek given gud performances especially in mafia roles lik company,shoot out etc….look at his hair which is long back and his face in not in league of hritik…its better for him to do chracter roles thn lead type….

No one can be compared to hrithik he is in different lague he has won 6 filmfare awards wax statue and irespective of flop or hit he is one of the best actor of his generation and versatile

Vivek is better than SRK and salman anyday…SRK and Salman are king of overacting..they ll vanish in the next 4 – 5 years and Hrithik, Ranbir and Vivek will rule the industry…

@hritik fanz: you can add sharman joshi also, Don’t talk about acting only my dear looks is also important if these is not the case then at one time OM PURI, ANUPAM KHER, NASIRUDDIN SHAH IRFAN KHAN can be on top list, BIG is the example he have acting skills and good looking as well that’s why he rule the indian film industry.
