Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has denied making a statement that India is intolerant, adding that he didn’t want to leave the country either. The actor blamed the media for the furore.
“I never said India was intolerant or I wanted to leave the country. I also understand the emotions of those who were hurt. I would like to say that my statement was misunderstood and to some extent media is responsible for it. I was born here and I will die here” Aamir said, while interacting with the media during an event to celebrate 10 years of his 2006 classic Rang De Basanti.
While Aamir had earlier said his wife, Kiran Rao, suggested they should probably leave India due to ‘growing despondency’ and fear for her child, Aamir says he gets homesick when he leave India for more than 2 weeks.
“Our country is diverse with so many languages, culture…no other country has so much diversity as India. Whenever I go abroad I can’t stay away from my country more than two weeks. I get homesick”
“I was born here and I will die here” he said.
On November 24 last year, Aamir had said “As an individual, as part of this country as a citizen, we read in the papers what is happening, we see it on the news and certainly, I have been alarmed. I can’t deny. I have been alarmed by a number of incidents. When I chat with Kiran at home, she says ‘Should we move out of India?’ That’s a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears about what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day. That does indicate that there is this sense of growing disquiet, there is growing despondency apart from alarm. You feel why this is happening, you feel low. That sense does exist in me”

I am tired of this intolerance now.. how does this really affect a common man? When I travel on train, I talk to everyone without knowing their religion or caste.
I have friends from all religion, it hasn’t affect my relationship with these people. It’s the same feeling they share.
Pathetic media only wants to sell negativity. Congress and other opposition parties are just using religion, caste and media to divide people, which they have been doing for years. The moment people realise this and put an end to such politics, everyone will be more tolerant. There will be more peace and positivity in the country.
So this guy decides to made a statement two weeks before Dilwale release.. and two weeks after end of its run.. says he didn’t say country is intolerant.

No one can afford that some jerks start protest against their movies in front of theatres and stop the screening of their movies..so they have to clarify again and again that they didn’t speak India intolerant..And reality is both Aamir and Shahrukh told that some anti social ppl are behaving like intolerant…They didn’t say India intolerant..just bcz of these one or two sentences if we termed them antinational then it is stupidity…Shahrukh and Aamir are two most successful Bollywood actors of last two and half decades and their popularity has made India proud on many occasions…total support to SRK and Aamir..

Hey everybody here who hates Aamir, India has a population of 130 crore people. 100 crore don’t even know abt the controversy.
Aamir movies get a fottfall of around 3.5 crore. 2-4 lac upar neeche hone se, koi farak nahi padega.
Dangal acchhi hui toh kisi ka baap bhi usse ATBB hone se nahi rok sakta. Karte raho hate, Aamir will win everyone’s hearts with Dangal.
