My Name Is Khan which opened to packed houses during the weekend and eventually crashed at single screens and multiplexes in smaller cities has performed well-enough at the Indian box office to earn HIT status in less than 3 weeks.
The film crossed the 65 crore nett mark in 2 weeks and is heading towards lifetime business of around 75 – 78 crores.
Fox, the distributors of My Name Is Khan will recover their investment through the films theatrical business alone, as the film has performed very well overseas, along with good collections back home in India.

All said and done though, MNIK will be considered below expectations here in India for the following reasons.
- The film was expected to compete with Aamir’s 3 Idiots, but is expected to fall short of the first week business of 3 Idiots (80 crores) in its entire run.
- My Name Is Khan will not be able to cross the lifetime business of SRK’s last two films Om Shanti Om and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

Even Australia claim of 7 crs is ridicolous for opening weekend. As per Taran Adarsh, even after the 3rd weekend, Australia was at Rs. 3.62 cr.

single screen is 35 % cinema owner and 65 % distributor
multiplex 50 % cinema owner and 50 % distributor.
MNIK collected near to 70 % from multiplexes and 30 % single screen.
70 % of 65 cr is near to 44 cr it means 22 cr DS from multiplex
30 % of 65 cr is near to 21 cr it means 14 cr DS from single screen
total DS is 36 cr and movie will finish at 38, 39 cr DS.
if MNIK collected near to 80 cr in reality ( which didnt happened ) then it DS could be cross 44 cr .
so with 65- 68 cr life time DS is 38-39 cr
and it if final report.

My Star Rating for My Name Is Khan is 4/5 and i put my review on Thursday near to 2 pm IST before every one except Taran, with out any hint without watching 1st day collections.
I am not that kind of reviewer who read all reviews and see opening collections and then put their reviews.
Nauman, multiplex DS becomes 30% in 3rd week onwards… so there is no way those numbers are true. Also, in the second week it is 42.5% (while I do agree 1st week is 52.5%). So those numbers are as reliable as FOX numbers.

Went to see Atithi Tum Jaoge which got released today at 10am in Fiji. I went in with a lot of expectations at the same time a little apprehensive in case it was an Indian Version of the 2006 Hollywood movie ‘You, Me and Dupree’ with Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson.
To my delight I was not disappointed.
Story: Exactly what the title suggests..an unwanted guest..Paresh Rawal who ends up in Ajay Devgun and Konkana’s home.
Positives of the movie: 1.Hilarious moments between the three leading actors.
2. Ajay as the script writer has some very funny lines and has acted well. Konkana and Paresh are all at their best..as usual.Sanjay Mishra was great. Satish Kaushil was good and Viju Khote as himself was really entertaining. Great performances and worth watching.
3.The first half is great . Scenes just before interval were well directed and quite entertaining.
4.It has a great message and will be appreciated by the audience.Take some tissues with you.
5.The music ..what can I say… Very different..I just loved it.
Negatives of the movie:
1. The second half had a few moments when it slowed down.But that changed after a while so it ended up being a nice family entertainer. Very enjoyable. Well worth watching..
