Emraan Hashmi’s MR X releases in theatres tomorrow. The film marks the return of the actor to the ‘Bhatt camp’ after several back-to-back failures with films like ‘Ghanchakkar’, ‘Raja Natwarlal’ and ‘Ungli’.
More than his ‘serial kisser’ image, music has played a very important role in Emraan’s success. Unfortunately, the music of Mr X hasn’t gained popularity and the pre-release buzz has been low. The film is likely to rely on word-of-mouth publicity, as the advance booking too has received a lukewarm response.
It’s also hard to figure out which section of audience the makers have targeted with a film like Mr X. Kissing and love-making scenes (both of which have been highlighted in the promos) might keep the family audience away and the lack of it (along with not-so-popular music) might not encourage the masses at smaller centres to come out in big numbers.
We expect the film to collect Rs 4.2 crore on its opening day at the box office and then grow over the weekend, depending on how well the critics and audience receive the film.

The landing cost of Mr X is on the higher side and the film has to collect more than 50 crore just to break-even. The other problem for Mr X is that ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ releases in theatres next week, followed by Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gabbar Is Back’. So sustaining well at the box office, even if the word-of-mouth is good, will be a tough task. The only chance for the film to do well in the long run is if it carries extraordinary reports.

the trailer is the best so far of 2015 and even the music playing the background of trailer is very likable.
10cr is a certainity on day 1and if reports at release time are good this could well be first women centric film to cross 100cr.
Mr. X will be sureshot hit. Emmi will bounce back with mr. X.
Biggest hit of the yr is possible if audiences can forget about Mr India and treat this as a separate entity- no comparisons but its tough so on that basis I believe lifetime will be 50-65cr but I want Emmi to bounce back now or one day soon.
How does Piku have more buzz than Bombay Velvet and near same buzz as Gabbar if its opening day is estimated to be less than those films?
I may sound very rude here but Emraan hashmi is no Salable star because of below mention factor.
1. There are new actor like Sid,varun,arjun,ranveer,shushanth etc came who are also master in serial kissing with even good looking and attractive girls like Shridha,alia,anushka etc.Earlier very few actor were interested in kissing and intimate scene, superstars like Salman,Srk,hr,Ajay,Akshay were far away for these gimmicks, so Emraan had created different kind of audience for himself, which are missing now a days.
2.As per Indicine More than Emraan his films chartbusters song with sex quotient were more highlighted in film whether you talk about Murder,zeher,Ashiq Banaya Apne,Aksar,jannat series etc.From last 4-5 film not a single song of his film became chartbuster, I haven’t know what is title or song of Mr.X
3. Over dependency in Bhatt camp- Both bhatts and Emraan were crucial for success of each other, Emraan failed to give a single solo hit outside bhatt camp(if any please correct me) and bhatts also got flops too but still they are more capable to churn success without Emraan while Emraan struggling.
4.Look at the promos on TV what you are finding a hidden man kissing the heroine, in her bed,in swimming pool.Common guys you are bringing a concept which is different and instead of showing visual effects, some out of the box, they are promoting the same Emraan hashmi who kisses his heriones non stop.
5. Emraan Hashmi-The guys is never been an above average actor neither had looks or excellent acting skills, uniqueness like serial kisser with superhit song with good story in 2005-09 were good to him, after that he was success in sequals like murder2,jannat2,raaz 3.The kind of fan following he had is temporary, there taste is also changes as the uniqueness of Emraan is overshadowed by new actor, when Big stars Hr,Ranbir,Aamir,Srk, with new comers are kissing top heroines Kat,deepika,kareena,anishka,Priyanka or even Alia,shridhha who will be interested in Emraan kisses anymore with no story films.Family audience were miles away from Emraan ever since he started career so sailing sex and talking that it is family film that too Emraan hashmi who gonna believe him.
I mostly read here people saying Emraan his very good actor, versatile, underrated.But ex ept Shanghai he was the same guy in all film.A young guy who are interested in girls,earns money with illigle way,some time thief,spoil brat etc.

I am not a Emraan hashmi hater but he failed to came out from Hus image and his earlier popular image is no longer popular now.
i think it will collect 5cr because it is also releasing on 3d so hope emraan will bounce back but i agree that music is not upto the mark.
