Emraan Hashmi’s Mr X has taken a disastrous opening at the box office on Friday. At most centres that we tracked, the occupancy for the morning shows was less than 10%.
In comparison, Raja Natwarlal opened at around 20-25% occupancy in the morning (went on to collect Rs 6.1 crore on Day 1) and Ungli was somewhere around 15% (collected Rs 3.6 crore on Day 1). Even at smaller centres, which were Emraan’s strong-holds a couple of years ago, have taken poor starts.
Mr X has to pick up as the day progresses and then show good growth over the weekend, to have any chance of recovering costs. Otherwise, the film might even struggle to recover its print and advertising costs through theatrical business.

Another disaster for Emraan. No surprise considering the promos weren’t appealing.
Let us stop the attitude of making a film fail before it releases or after first show..2 weeks there is no release so minimum 30 Crore bossiness on the cards giving 15 Crore distributor share with 25 Crore satellite recovery and 10 Crore other revenue (MUSIC< OVERSEAS<DVD). Budget is 25 Crore so Profit = 25 Crore
Everybdy who considered Emraan as a star should think,again he is not a star he never actually it was the music which worked for him.

it all started with Dirty picture.. previously he had central roles, then he got attitude, fans loved him… his heroism got affected…then few bad films.. and he sank.. now he even flopped in his own forte…
he better work in multi starrers now… like brother to any top superstar or strong negative role… otherwise he will be MR X from Bollywood…
now srk fan will say that srks film will open better than mr x

Promos were’nt well cut just showing amyra chasing emmi..no villains were revealed.

The biggest problem is that music of his films is’nt getting hit,it is the most imp. aspect of getting a good initial.
Even a film like yaariyan with bunch of younsters opened really well coz it.
Youngistanis are lucky,they get good music in most of their films be it roy,badlapur,hskd,villain,mth.
And when they don’t get even their films struggle.
We Bhai-fans can save this movie … on one condition –
Emraan , you have to praise our Bhai !

In 4-5 years ago,He was the hit-machine actor..That time he delivered more hits than salman..But nowadays,it seems hard for emran..

When Emmi made his debut I was not in India and after afew yrs ppl would tell me about him n his movies doing well but after looking at the movie cover I would think “how did he become an actor/ star? No height, not good looking, bland expressions….” despite my reservations he thrived in Btown. Sadly now after a decade we know why- endless kissing at a time when top stars didnt kiss on screen much and mind blowing music- mahi from Raaz 2 I can still listen to nonstop today. Emmi needs a makeover- new stylist maybe clean shaven look something to turn his fortunes around.

@The Phenom, history of Bollywood – not really, there have been many such phases. In the multiplex era, most definitely. In between there was a good phase – Badlapur, NH10 and Dum Laga Ke Haisha did well, but last few films have opened poorly.
Opening continues to be the biggest concern. The audience is unwilling to come out in big numbers on Friday morning.
Movie is getting thumps up from audiences ..
