Mohenjo Daro Trailer

One of the most awaited trailers of 2016 is out. Featuring Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde in the lead, Mohenjo Daro has been directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar – who has previously directed films like the Oscar nominated ‘Lagaan’, ‘Swades’ and ‘Jodhaa Akbar’.

The music has been composed by A.R. Rahman, lyrics have been penned by Javed Akhtar.

Ashutosh Gowarikar’s press statement:

“Mohenjo Daro is not just another historical; it’s pretty much even before history begins. It’s literally going back in the womb of time. It’s a world that I am most fascinated with — who were the people, how did they live, what was the society like, are some of the questions which always intrigued me. I am thankful that I got this opportunity to explore that world through cinema”

“Since this was a make believe world so when I started my research, during the initial phase, I came across Mr. Jonathan Mark Kenoyer’s books “Ancient India: Land of Mystery” and “Excavations at Mohenjo Daro”. I immediately got in touch with Mr. Kenoyer, Dept. of Anthropology, University of Wisconsin to seek his assistance. He has worked at the Mohenjo Daro excavation site for the past 35 years. To my good fortune, he agreed to participate to help me realize the true potential of the story on film. He then suggested to me other esteemed names who could give me inputs on the undeciphered Sindhu script, culture, the town planning and any and every other aspect that seems necessary. They were -R. S. Bisht, Ex-Director, ASI; Prof. Vasant Shinde Jt. Director, Puna University; Dr. P. Ajithprasad, Dept. of Archaeology and Ancient History, MSU, Baroda; K. Krishnan, Dept. of Archaeology, MSU, Baroda; and V.N.Prabhakar, Deputy Superintending Archaeologist, Aurangabad. It was wonderful that they could impart their study, analysis and knowledge to this project.”

  • Tv serial Ashoka has better sets than this.Appreciate Hrithiks efforts though doesnt look like it’s best his best.

  • @Darshan Harjit Dilwale vfx was 50/50 songs scenaries done by Red chilles while action scenes done by Ajay vfx studio. Get facts right. Do you have an idea of the action director of this movie? Ajay is my 2nd best and Shivaay is also a movie am looking for but you must crazy to say this trailer is just okay. Why people can’t accept it? Tell the truth and shame the devil!

  • I will tell only one thing that whole movie had been done in our Kutch District and city is Bhuj.

I have seen original place I.e. Dholavira which is call haddapsn Sanskriti where wood fossils is available .

Dholakia is in white run of Kuch where Lagan and refugee and hum Dil de chuke saman was done.

Really happy to see our city in this epic movie.

Hrithik stayed in our nearest hotel

Kutch Nahi Dekha to Kuch nahi Dekha

  • OMG i am dying, i dont have a Word for this man, he keeps supprising me everytime, what a mind blowing trailer, love It. we are waitinggggggg for the best movie of the year.

  • Looks like agnipath 2, why they are keep repeating mahejdaaro at every second and why they are keep showing before Budda before Christ it’s so annoying.

  • @indicine the 2nd comment @annonymous is @Arjun youngistaan comment. Why did you change it? Damage has been done already.

  • Really disapointed by the trailer they cant even match bajirao mastani forget bahubali.vfx is truly let down ,now only story can save this epic failure yet again just like kites failed, rustom has the tone of patroitism, first weekend should belong to mohanjo daro but rest of the day belongs to rustom.

  • I hope people stop comparing Baahubali and MohenjoDaro, both are 2 different movies, Baahubali was more of a fantasy/fiction movie with stunning visuals (being fantasy/fiction gives a lot of creative freedom to show unusual things) and war sequences, whereas MohenjoDaro is based on real world, more realistic. A representation of a real, but forgotten era, how people used to live and struggled for survival.

  • @abhiTHUG You need eye checkup 1920 london is directed by Vikram Bhatt, who is not directing Rustom.
Get ready for another disaster Mohenjodaro. HR does 1 film in 2 years, that also flop!

  • Poor vfx,Only saying mohenjodaro and nagar in place of dialogues, pathetic sets all over.Dissapointed.

  • Trailer is underwhelming but it ticks all the boxes that a trailer should:
    -Introduction of major characters.
    -Backdrop of the film.
    -Basic plot.
-Raising of stakes and a bigger conflict in the hindsight.
Its a movie based on a civilization for which there is little evidence. So most of what we see here is the director’s research on the subject and his imagination. Yes it may seem to lack the wow factor but at the end of the day, its a trailer. Movie might be holding a lot of wow moments up its sleeve. As far as the accuracy goes, I have read that the people of that period were scantily clad. Now showing that for a movie would just shift the genre from historic drama to erotic historic drama. So kudos to Mr Gowariker for not going that way. I would rate it a 6.5/10.?
