One of the most awaited trailers of 2016 is out. Featuring Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde in the lead, Mohenjo Daro has been directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar – who has previously directed films like the Oscar nominated ‘Lagaan’, ‘Swades’ and ‘Jodhaa Akbar’.
The music has been composed by A.R. Rahman, lyrics have been penned by Javed Akhtar.
Ashutosh Gowarikar’s press statement:
“Mohenjo Daro is not just another historical; it’s pretty much even before history begins. It’s literally going back in the womb of time. It’s a world that I am most fascinated with — who were the people, how did they live, what was the society like, are some of the questions which always intrigued me. I am thankful that I got this opportunity to explore that world through cinema”
“Since this was a make believe world so when I started my research, during the initial phase, I came across Mr. Jonathan Mark Kenoyer’s books “Ancient India: Land of Mystery” and “Excavations at Mohenjo Daro”. I immediately got in touch with Mr. Kenoyer, Dept. of Anthropology, University of Wisconsin to seek his assistance. He has worked at the Mohenjo Daro excavation site for the past 35 years. To my good fortune, he agreed to participate to help me realize the true potential of the story on film. He then suggested to me other esteemed names who could give me inputs on the undeciphered Sindhu script, culture, the town planning and any and every other aspect that seems necessary. They were -R. S. Bisht, Ex-Director, ASI; Prof. Vasant Shinde Jt. Director, Puna University; Dr. P. Ajithprasad, Dept. of Archaeology and Ancient History, MSU, Baroda; K. Krishnan, Dept. of Archaeology, MSU, Baroda; and V.N.Prabhakar, Deputy Superintending Archaeologist, Aurangabad. It was wonderful that they could impart their study, analysis and knowledge to this project.”

Hrithik was a superstar day 1 not like Joker whose only achievement is Multicast comedies in 2007.

A.R.RAHMAN’S music is a misfit for this film. Dunno why music felt strictly mediocre. There is no doubt he is a great musician n artist but I feel he isn’t able to match with the tune of Harrapan Civilization. Couldn’t feel the soul of music which we felt in Bajirao Mastani, Black n Devdas. I think Sanjay Leela Bhansali could have done more justice to this rich project. It is just a trailer though. Hope the movie surprise us with wonderful music n tunes. Also couldn’t find any trace of Pashupatinatha (Shiva) who was the then majorly worshipped god of Harappa n Mohenjodaro. May could be seen in the movie.
Trailer is Average, HRs acting is good.
It looks like Mohanjadaro has nothing exciting story to be told, its same as Zameendaar vs Kisaan or Nayadaur kind of story with love angle.AG has lost the commercial aspect in film making.SLB has learnt it after Guzarish while AG hasnt.
AG should have opted for Mahabaratha than Mohanjadaro.
Now team Rustom will be more confident about releasing on Independence weekend.

Till now the archeologist were shouting..now its tym for the vfx expert to shout…
But let it be clear,this era dosent need unrealistic vfx like baahubali.nd dont compare the two genre…watch it with a mindset that it is set in the period when life didnt even existed fully..

i am not a HR hater but frankly speaking no doubt trailor is good but not extraordinary as some people r trying to make it
There was not a single dull scene in the film after the entry of Kabir Bedi.. And I found the trailer better on second watch.
Did anyone notice? Each and every actor(including the old lady who was in Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo and the Bombay Velvet actor) in the movie are looking so intense.
It’s easy to say that MohenjoDaro may give goosebumps several times when you watch the movie in theatre.
It promises beautiful cinematography, terrific performances, engaging BGM and high Grandeur!
The crocodile scene is a surprise during the end!
MohenjoDaro starts in a nice way with the beautiful BGM by Rahman. It rises to an excellent level after the entry of Kabir Bedi who is looking quite impressive! Pooja Hegde is looking lovely. But it’s Hrithik Roshan who seems to be the heart and soul of the movie!
What I didn’t like? Obviously the pace! It should have been a bit more consistent.
