With Krrish 3 now almost certain to cross the 200 crore mark at the domestic box office, the big question still remains. Can the Hrithik Roshan starrer beat the lifetime collections of Chennai Express?
First 8 days comparison
- Hindi version: Krrish 3 – 165.5 crore, Chennai Express – 156.44 crore (without paid previews).
- Total collections: Krrish 3 – 175.58 crore, Chennai Express – 163.19 crore.
From here on, if Krrish 3 collects about the same as what Chennai Express did after its 8th day, the film will end up with lifetime collections of around 240 crore.
Chennai Express faced stiff competition from Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara in its second week. Krrish 3 too was affected at urban centres with the release of Hollywood superhero film ‘Thor 2’. Next week, Ram Leela will take a huge chunk of screens and shows from Krrish 3, so the film has to collect as much as it possibly can this weekend.

I think, Krrish 3 deserves to be a winner at box office. I have watched BMB, YJHD, CE and Krrish 3. All are different movies and all are well made movies. Krrish 3 deserves to be a better performer than CE. CE also could have collected more than whatever it collected, but CE faced stiff copetitions from 7th day itself, giving some 1500 screens to other movies. I think we must aprreciate the performance of Deepika and SRK and direction of Rohit in CE. In the mean time, we must appreciate the story, screenplay and direction of Rakesh Roshan in Krrish 3. We must appreciate the performamnce of Hrithik (as Rohit, Krishna and Krish) and the equally powerful villain Kaal.
Krrish 3 have taken the bollywood cinema to another level. They have made a technically brilliant movie in a budget of 90-100 crores. And, SRKs Red Chllies VFX has done good work for the film. It is good that Indian people are liking the technically well made movie and Krrish 3 is going to earn more than CE at box office.
This year I liked two songs to watch in the movie, one is Kashmir main of CE and other one is Dil tu hi bata of Krrish 3.
chennai exp was a boring movie…only song interaction part was good…it get the highest money due to sharukh…..
krrish3 is much better than chennai exp, which was just one time watch. And as far as srk is concerned, his craze is gone now.. age 50 too old.. but hrithik in krrish 3 was excellent.. what muscles and action!
krrish 3 today’s collection will cross 210 crore.. CE took 36 days something but krrish3 will reach 250cr soon..
chennai exp was totally boring movie…i watched that movie because of deepika..superb south indian acting she has done.and due to song… srk was totally depend on deepika and music … srk cant even get best comedian award.. best actor award is so far away from him.. but hrithik will definitely win all best actor awards…

We have seen over the last couple of years or so that collections of Bocofficeindia.com are lower than collections reported by trade analysts like Taran Adarsh, Komal Nahta, Joginder Tuteja etc…but mostly the difference has been around 10% only…..However, for Krish 3 this difference is huge, much more than 10%….Can u please clarify?
I believe this difference arises on account of BOI not considering assured business income to single screen theater owners while others tend to include that in collections…..Is this correct?

BOI records are crap. their source is not authentic. there is an article about it. there is a lot of personal likes and dislikes in their analysis and numbers. also at times they try to prove that they are different and hence manipulate numbers to get publicity. pls ignore them. why would any producer lie because taxability comes into play and if they give out huge no’s there are financial liabilities to it. hence the correct figures are the ones from the production house.
ce worldwide collection can’t break any movie.Who is most popular in world it is determines worldwide collection .I think dhoom can’t break ce record .it is very very hard to break.it is easy to earn 200 cr by latlest sceen.but it is hard to go 500 cr.
Krrish 3 did not reach to 300cr worldwide yet, after 5 weeks
