KICK has collected Rs 84 crore in its first weekend at the box office, which is about Rs 18.58 cr (Hindi only) lesser than Aamir Khan’s Christmas release Dhoom 3.
- KICK released on approx 4100 screen cross the country, while Dhoom 3 released on 3800 screens in Hindi and around 300 screens in Tamil and Telugu.
- KICK released during Pre-Eid period when majority of muslims don’t watch films. It also released during Southwest monsoon which affects business in the biggest circuit – Mumbai. Dhoom 3 released during Christmas, the only factor that could have affected business was the cold wave in the North.
- KICK was a south remake, while Dhoom 3 was a part of the biggest and most popular franchise in Bollywood.

Kick collected great in those pre-eid and normal weekend. I think if it had normal Eid release it would surely challenged D3 weekend figures. For me D3 is way better film than kick as i was little disappointed with the film but yes it was Paisa vasool movie but the trailer of kick raise my expectation higher. For Those who thinks kick under perform, i think they got big kick in their brain after the outstanding collection. They are comparing ce which was totally holiday release all 3 days were holidays. While D3 had normal weekend and kick also had normal weekend but pre-eid and the fact is Salman popularity in Muslims is way higher than any star so it surely affected almost 8-9cr in 3 days. Lets wait for Eid than you will see Salmans Euphoria again.

Kick Review
Okay its time for my Review of Kick…. The patience you have shown is commendable and I promise to be as OBJECTIVE as I possibly can despite the fact we all know I am absolutely a bhai fanatic ready to go war with any group of fans in defense of my bhai jaan… But I will endeavour to be as honest as I can so help me God…! Wish me luck.
Ok spoiler alert coming up- my let down of the movie- where are the days of Good guys fighting the Good cops gone…? Back in the 70’s we had movies like Zanjeer and Amar Akbar Anthony which had real tussles between Pran Sir and Amit Ji and Amit Ji again with Vinod Sir in AAA…! This was also a letdown in Dhoom 2 plus 3…. Both Dhoom movies could have done with the good guy bashing up Abhishek (ok I personally want to see Abhi take a beating even if its Tusshar or Shreyas or anybody as I really hate that loser) n in Kick bhai jaan could have gone one on one with Hooda…! On the flip side their comical drunk scene was well shot- too much fun- top work.
The Songs- the Jumme Ki Raat (spoiler alert) should have been with Devi Lal and not Devil…. Complete mismatch- Ok Devi Lal already featured in Hangover song but Devil had the well choreographed ‘Yaar Naa Miley’ track based on him so no need to give Devil another needless song IMO. Dont know if he was trying to woo Shaina so just felt odd. Great song but out of place in movie timeline.
Action- the bus scene (no spoiler alert needed here as its in the trailer) falls of the bridge and crashes into the river. Ok perfect opportunity for Sajid to shoot an underwater scene in the same way Reema shot Aamirs car crash end shot in Talaash…! Would have been nice to see Bhai jaan swim. Could have gone back in a flashback scene explaining how bhai escapes wheen Hooda catches up with him in that bar where bhai is dancing to that beautiful ‘saat samundar’ track. (Sajids ex deceased wife Divya would have been proud of that dance I bet.) Just felt like an opportunity had gone begging for Sajid to truly do something spectacular.
The 40th floor jump sequence was amazing. The bus chase not so- sorry to say it was just not top draw- left alot to be desired and theres room for improvement there for Sajids next.
Romance- no qualms here- hangover track is enough romance for this film- that was beautifully choreographed and the picturisation was out of this world. Jacqueline looked truly beautiful.
Comedy- Devi Lal stole the show for the most part but Nawazuddins scene with his uncle n tyagi in the limousine was hilarious. Truly that was sarcasm at its best and certain readers here can learn sarcastic rhetoric from the man himself.
Ending- (spoiler alert) it had everyone in stitches and was perfect for the movie- only person who can stop Devil is Devi Lal himself…. What more can one say. Epic way to end the movie.
My rating 3 out of 5- great songs, well choreographed songs, great casting of Nawaz bhai and Randeep, Jacqueline looked beautiful in every scene and those spectacles of her made her too desirable, Mithun Sir was good in his opening scene- too much fun and finally bhai stole the show not once but twice in his two personas…. A real entertainer and sure shot winner. Enjoy bhai fans.
Monday kick fall around 50-55% from friday. But tuesday is national holiday so night and late night show will be good. But still less than 15 cr. on monday is no good. Eid day it must need to gross atleast 25 cr. otherwise no chance to gross more than 200 cr. It would be on the range of yjhd/krrish 3.

Hrithik did made many illogical movies like Krrish series and Dhoom 2. But his fans only find other films to be illogical.

A hardcore SRK fan, a friend of mine, watched the movie with me. He commented “Its the best performance by Salman after Dabangg and I enjoyed it more than ETT.”

Both K3 and Dhoom 2 are illogical films as well. Dhoom 2 defied several laws of physics, whereas K3 is a kalang in the name of a super hero films.

@navin agreed. Roshans copied straight from Marvel comics and ET. I watched KMG and I couldnt believe when I watched ET after some years. It was a damn near scene-by-scene copy of ET! Except songs.
The scenes copied from the original made a bit of sense, as Speilberg and team worked hard to create a new relatable story. Rakesh sir just put any random illogucal senes that crossed his mind without thinking of logic.
Some scenes not in the original:
1. Jaadoo healing Rohit by merely placing a hand on him! Is this a scifi or fairy tale?
2. Absolutely illogical basketball scene- children flying 7 feet above the ground and noone in the audience feel weird? And how in the name of logic does Jaadoo make them fly? Is he is an alien or wizard?
LOL Rohit series is illogical and plagiarised and calling them ambitious is wrong because originality is needed which Rohit series lack.

Ok he was ‘sandskating’. But the Queen of England travels in a low security train through a vast desert where any group of dacoits could easily attack. And only 2 Bodyguards? Who cant even shoot a person at point blank range? The funniest thing is YRF makeup artists couldnt make Hrithik look like the Queen so they made the queen look like Hrithik :D
Mr A’s background and family friends are also completely ignored. He barely speaks 5-6 sentences in the whole movie.
At least in Kick we know who Devi Lal is and why he steals.
And there is no irritating Abhi-Uday combo.
Also Salman makes us laugh, clap, whistle as Devi Lal. Hrithik didnt entertain the audience as much as Salman.

You didn’t even understand what I wrote in my previous comment. I DIDN’T say that you didn’t like KMG or Dhoom 2, I said you are FREE/ALLOWED to dislike them! As everyone has different TASTE/PREFERENCE. I was just trying to teach you that sandboarding is possible in reality and aliens doing unrealistic stuffs in fantasy or Sci-Fi movies is also possible, like Transformers (Optimus Prime being alive after being dead by something), Superman (villain stars flying towards the end) etc.

I’ll get you many in any commercial movie.
@Arjun – I was not even defending Dhoom 2, neither did I say that you did not like those movies. In fact Dhoom 2 was one of my least favorite Hrithik movies, he has done many better films. I was just pointing out logical scenes from the list of your illogical scenes. If you are confused or misunderstood something then at least try to talk in a good manner.
