KICK has collected Rs 84 crore in its first weekend at the box office, which is about Rs 18.58 cr (Hindi only) lesser than Aamir Khan’s Christmas release Dhoom 3.
- KICK released on approx 4100 screen cross the country, while Dhoom 3 released on 3800 screens in Hindi and around 300 screens in Tamil and Telugu.
- KICK released during Pre-Eid period when majority of muslims don’t watch films. It also released during Southwest monsoon which affects business in the biggest circuit – Mumbai. Dhoom 3 released during Christmas, the only factor that could have affected business was the cold wave in the North.
- KICK was a south remake, while Dhoom 3 was a part of the biggest and most popular franchise in Bollywood.

Kick was more visually accurate than Krrish 3 and had better action and Vfx than it. And there no laughable in the air fight scenes like Kaal vs Krrish.

even if CE or Dhoom 3 had released on the date KICK released (pre-eid,the excuse),they both have earned more than what KICK has earned….nothing great
@Arjun – Ever heard of Sci-Fi? Science fiction (Sci-Fi) is a genre of fiction dealing with imaginative content such as futuristic settings, futuristic science and technology, space travel, time travel, faster than light travel, parallel universes, and extraterrestrial life. In easy words, Sci-Fi movies aren’t supposed to be real LOL. So, aliens/dinosaurs/avataretc can exist in a fantasy world and do whatever they can.
Mr. A was shown entering the museum through underground by swimming, he was also shown using make up to look like a statue in a bathroom.
Roller skating on sand? Its called sandboarding, like waterboarding (as shown in Bang Bang teaser first time ever in Bollywood), so yeah it is possible to “skate on sand”. You can find images on internet.
That old sweeper to Mr.A conversion was illogical. We can find such plot holes in Hollywood movies like Pirates of Caribbean, Wolverine etc as well.
I didn’t reply to Nipuns comment because it was his personal review and made some sense, everybody is entitled to his opinion, but your 3 out of 4 points didn’t make a sense.
On Kick, it was a masala Salman Khan entertainer, so don’t expect it to have much sense, as Indicine has said in their review.

KMG wasn’t senseless. It was a sci-fi movie and these are always imaginary. It was a extremely good movie with terrific performances.
@arjun and js: dhoom2 was at higher standrd. Their story is neither manipulative nor they showed senseless fighting scene. Yes, there were points which arjun has mentioned. But dhoom 2 wasn’t poorly edited like kick. The logic was not shown in dhoom 2. But they didn’t show senseless fighting atleast like kick. Devil threw nawaz and he flied and fell into the wall.
And, k3 was a hugely ambitious project and it wasn’t a bhojpuri masala superhero film like kick where a common man was behaving like a super man.

@nipun mvz like dhoom2,k3,kick are all larger than life paisa vasool genre film so if u r okay with absence of logic in d2 and k3 then wats ur problem with kick.also salman doesnt need to get a power from somewhere else to establish him as a superhero.the moment he enters everyone everyone expects larger than life stuff from him and he looks convincing in all of them.I hv watched kick twice in a high end multiplex and moment he enters the entire theatre was whistling and clapping and in that climax scene of salman -nawazz face off ppl were clapping non stop.that proves ppl found salman’s larger than life act convincing

@Arjun – He may sound strict, but he just posted his opinion, he’s entitled to one. You are also free to say that you didn’t like Dhoom 2 or any other movie. People’s opinion may differ from each other. I just pointed out the mistakes in your comment like sandboarding is not possible, Sci-Fi movies have to be realistic, etc. They are completely possible. You are also free to say that you didn’t like those scenes, but they were logical. I hope you understood the difference.

I liked both those films,especially kmg which is one of my all time fav films.I hv watched it around 20 times.but I hv problem when nipun has different criteria for judging different film.I hv no problem if he rates kick 1 star but how can he hv problem with logic and action in kick while he doesnt hv the same problem with d2 and kmg?

Krrish series was never senseless. Sci fi and superhero genres are imaginary. Yes dhoom 2 had some illogical scenes, but it was nicely edited for which audience will n’t feel instantly “WTF”. But kick? ? God, story,editing,screenplay everything in that movie were flawed.
The 2nd half stunts were gud along wid nawaz acting.
