Producer Rakesh Roshan has confirmed to Bombay Times that his upcoming production ‘Kaabil’ will release in theatres on Republic Day next year.
Roshan’s confirmation comes a day after Shah Rukh Khan visited the residence of his ‘Karan Arjun’ director to sort out the release date issue.
After the meeting, Shah Rukh had tweeted “Met friend/mentor/family after many a days. Mr. R.Roshan reminded me.. it’s not important to do 2 much, it’s important to get 1 right. Thx sir.”
A day after the meeting, Roshan told Bombay Times “My film will release on Republic Day weekend as planned. I don’t know about them. Farhan (Akhtar) is not in town. So maybe after he returns, we’ll know”
Talking about Shah Rukh’s visit, Roshan Sr said “We were just sitting and chatting like old times. It was good to catch up as we have done many films together – I gave Shah Rukh a break in King Uncle, then Koylaa and Karan Arjun”
Meanwhile, trade sources say, Rakesh Roshan has already committed to his old-time distributors and sold a few territories of his film. In the past, Roshan has sold territory rights of his films like Krrish 3, Krrish, Koi Mil Gaya etc to individual distributors even before the film went on floors.
With the kind of mutual trust that Roshan shares with his distributors and the fact that the trade in general is against corporates taking over, it’ll be a catch 22 situation for the makers of Raees. They can’t postpone the film again, but releasing it against ‘Kaabil’ isn’t going to be easy either – especially during a non-festive weekend like Republic Day.
It seems like Rakesh Roshan is confident in his calculator! Let’s se who makes up best Number!! This is going too be reaaaalll fuuun!! I am my bet on King of 3 billions fans in Pluto!
And then HR fans directly reached to conclusion when SRK paid a visit to Roshans.
I have affirmed it a number of times that Kaabil makers have every rights to stick to that date which they announced first and they should not sacrifice it because of haphazard planning of Raees makers.
So fine, I too want Raees to be shifted to a later date and I’m not bothered much about other prospectives. The damage is already done so it doesn’t really matter if it gets postponed once, twice or thrice.
But I must say, I have not seen people as dumb as Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. Even when we book a meeting room in our office, we duly check if someone else has already raised a request for the same meeting room and after being sure, we move our request forward.
And here, you shifted your movie just on the basis of assumptions? Go and learn some business logic before opening a production house you fools!

‘Bhagoda’ is one who thrashes people from his car and then shamelessly escapes the accident spot in the fear of conviction, and not a person who shifts his movies.
Though I know Lalluland has its separate dictionary and language, still I won’t allow you to change the meaning of few terms to such a drastic level.

He should not have influenced by the cheap tactics of Adi. Had he released Raees on Eid, the ‘Eid’ made star (who churned 180 CR in 5 days and less than 100 CR in lifetime) would not have been rejoicing his success by now.

It’s really funny to see that fans of a star, who was defeated even by Tushar Kapoor and newbie Ranbir kapoor in clash, are continuously blabbering about Kaabil VS Raees clash.
So listen you fools, at least HR and SRK have the courage of releasing their movies on non-holiday without caring much about B.O. perspectives unlike the greedy Khan, who was so depressed after the debacle of ‘Flop Ho’, that he never again turn up for a non-holiday release.
Lallu logic:
If a person shifts his movie to avoid a clash and thus, subsequently gives a chance for both the movies (which were to be clashed initially) of equal showcasing, he is called a coward.
But a person, who sticks to festive weekends like bubblegum (till an extent that he books both Eid and Diwali in the same year) just to save his movies from being flop, is called courageous and brave.

I think if Raees will postpone then 19 th may 2017 will be a perfect date solo no clash summer vaccation period no big film till Tubelight also the makers can postpone it as 26 January is very far so they can postpone it once again and it would have been a problem if it was suddenly delayed bt 26 jan is far so they can do one more postpone board exam students will crave for a big entertainer after their hectic exams which will proove to be a big advantage also vaccations of schools and colleges will go on
OK so now no chance of Raeess to mark SRK’s comeback

I think so everything will be decided after the release of mohenjadaro. If mohenjadaro becomes a super hit then raees will change its date. If mohenjadaro fails then kaabil will change its date

With the humoungous success of Raees, released this Eid……..yeah, you guys heard it right……it infact released last Eid………in Pluto, by the way…….now SPK (self-proclaimed king) and his team are eyeing the lucrative 26th January holiday for earthwide release.
According to box office pluto, the movie collected close to 50000 cr plutowide and with its estimated collection of 500 cr more earthwide, it will have a galaxywide collection of 100000cr, including other planetary systems……..except in Jadooland.
Raees could not be released in Jadooland, as multiplexes in that world run 24×7 only papa’s boy’s movies………!!!
Now since Kaabil is set to clash with the pluto box office record smasher aka Raees, there are chances that Raees might just fell short of 1 or 2 cr to collect its quota of 500 cr on Earth.
Negotiations are going on between the two warring lands viz., plutoland and jadooland, for the release date.
Meanwhile, staying with news on earth, a little known movie named Sultan broke record of 500 cr earthwide before Raees…
Reacting to this, the spokeperson (a fan) of the king of good times……ooops, the self-proclaimed king, said that, they are not bothered about earthlings and their records, as their star is an inter-galactic superstar who releases movies on different planets in the solar system…..the collections from earth is only used for his pocketmoney when he travels on dirt….err…earth…..

Was bound to happen…although considering the bonding btw Hrithik, SRK and Farhan they might still work out a logical way so that both films won’t be affected.
SRK said in his interview that there are still potions left to shoot for Raees…which came as a surprise to me actually coz I thought the film was all ready for release during EID. My gut feel is that they might have decided be re-shoot some scenes as the final product was not upto their expectations. Whatever the case might be it has not been a fair play by Excel and Red Chillies towards the fans. They should have ensured the fans know what is happening instead of leaving them in the dark anticipating the news for the release of Raees every passing day.
Raees will postpone and may be released in next eid and clash with tubelight.
Bakrid is best possible fate for Raees. After avoiding clash with Sultan, it doesn’t make sense to go for another clash. Kaabil’s production cost is said to be around 30 crore, and it has already got 45 crore from satellite rights alone. They are not leaving the weekend no matter who comes to clash their movie as recovery will be easier for them. It’s not too late for Raees, they can drop the trailer this week, music in 2 weeks and they would still have 1 month for promotions.
SRK called Rakeshji as his mentor/family/friend, he’s also a friend of Hrithik, and Farhan/Hrithik have been friends since their childhood. That’s why I think Roshans may have felt little disappointed when makers of Raees announced to release their movies on same day as Kaabil without even informing Roshans let alone discussing it. What was their intention? That Kaabil will easily back out in fear? Or were they living under rock and didn’t know Kaabil and Badshaho were scheduled to release on same day.
They can still makeup for whole mess by releasing it on Bakrid this September. Surely, releasing a movie 5 months earlier will be only beneficial for the makers, if it’s completed, which I believe, it should be.
Big worrying times ahead for SRK. What has happened to the “geniuses” of the production houses? 52 weekends in a year of 365 days and yet 2 Big superstars want to come on the SAME day! Great brains!

Let’s be honest, big clashes are not beneficial to anybody. Not only does it divide the business, but it can also damage the relationship between many people, whether be it Raees/Sultan, MohenjoDaro/Rustom, Kaabil/Raees, or Kaabil/Tubelight as some SRK fans were suggesting in previous article. It is only loss-loss situation for both parties, unless one movie is made on much smaller scale. I hope no such clashes happen in future at least until we can accommodate 2 big movies on same day as SRK said earlier.
