A day after Shah Rukh Khan said his upcoming film ‘Raees’ won’t clash with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil, the director of the film, Sanjay Gupta, has reconfirmed that the film will arrive on the same date as previously announced.
In a series of tweets, the director said:
“Dear All KAABIL releases on Jan 26, 2017. Absolutely no change in date. Hope this clears all unnecessary rumours.”
“Dear SRK fans There is no need to get hyper abusive. Calm down. Even I like him & will watch Raees whenever it releases.”
“SUPERSTARS get great openings irrespective of Public Holidays. Look at what happened this Wednesday.” he said.
Meanwhile, we’ve been informed that Rakesh Roshan has decided to stick to the Republic Day 2017 date, even if Excel Entertainment decide to release ‘Raees’ on the same day.
Those asking, Hrithik's Kaabil has not been postponed. Still scheduled for 26 January 2017.

Celebrating Eid with the media yesterday, SRK spoke for the first time about averting the clash with Sultan and why they decided on releasing Raees next year.
“First of all, we weren’t ready with our film (Raees). I haven’t still given the last shot of Raees yet. We will shoot that now. Secondly, Salman and I spoke about it and we realised that we are at least 10,000 screens short of accommodating two films on the same day. Hence, we decided to come to a later date”
“We were looking at a number of dates to release the film this year but we could not because all of them were occupied. It would make no sense if we averted one clash for another one. It would mean like going out of the frying pan to the fryer. Then we decided on January 2017 as the release date”
“I knew Hrithik’s film was coming but he had not started the film then. We talked to Hrithik and Riteish (Sidhwani), Farhan are meeting him and Rakeshji on 11th or 12th this month. Then they will finalise on what’s to be done” Shah Rukh had said.
Now you know what. Even though i am a srk fan, he has annoyed me seriously now

Every postponed film underperformed big time(Yeh Lamhe Judai Ke, Bombay Velvet etc). So, Raees will be the same I think. SRK should’ve released his film along with underperformer Sultan. Big mistake. Now face the loss.

The teaser of Raees was Fab and even Salman Fans will have to agree to that. But its a huge mess created by Excel Entertainment. Be confident on your product and stick to a release date. You will lose face if you keep postponing your movie.

True said, Sanjay Gupta. A superstar doesn’t need a full holiday to prove his mettle. Yes, we all saw what happened on Wednesday.
Except for Plutorians and Laal Mirchi employees, nobody praises the so-called highest opening day collections of the Pluto King. In the case of the megastar Salman Bhaijaan or Sultan, everybody is going gaga over Sultan collections.
Once upon a time on Indicine, a certain trgen who has been blessed with a tiltle Dolly Bindra Darling used to rant under every Sultan article that the shootings of Raees had been completed, while that of Sultan was not. So, Raees deserved the Eid Release first as the film was ready. And she also used to say her king only announces the release date of his film after completing the shooting.
Now, Kya Hua? Her king either lied about the readiness of the film or is lying now to avoid from being legitimsed as the global bhagoda.
Sadly, no one is giving him respect or allowing him to release his film solo.
After FAN debacle, no one is afraid of him now.

Ritesh, Farhan and SRK should have at least contacted Rakeshji or Hrithik before assuming Kaabil won’t be ready in time and announcing Jan 26th as their new release date. This is a childish mess. I have a feeling this clash will not happen, and someone will move out because of their good relation. Logic says Raees should move away and find a better release date as it’s suicidal to clash 2 big movies for just 1 extra holiday.
Oh god..I can’t see Raees postoning to a later date..I am still very much excited for that film..no matter whenever it arrives I will watch it but I just want it to release as soon as possible..please no more postponements..and it’s good to see Shahrukh Khan finally speaking about the clash…

It frustrates me when he says he can’t refuse the films of some of his friends who aren’t capable of utilising even 50% srk’s true potential or his refusal to any role offered to him in a blockbuster movie is the movie’s loss not his.
When we wait for more than a year with bated breath and we get to watch dilwale it’s saddening.But then woh fan hi kya jo apne star ko support na kare when he needs us the most.
Thankfully he made a grand comeback at least for me with Fan and made amends for being part of some substandard movies in the recent past.
