Jurassic World Box Office Collections: Sets all time record

Universal’s Jurassic World has set the all time record for the highest opening weekend in North America, as the movie collected a record-breaking $208.8 million (Rs 1336 crore) last weekend.

Made on an estimated budget of $150 million (Rs 965 crore), Jurassic World was released across 4,274 theatres in North America. Most analysts had predicted that the opening numbers would be somewhere between $125 million – $135 million. But the box office performance of the film has almost doubled the estimates.

Internationally, Jurassic World became the first movie to cross $500 million in a single weekend. It collected a massive $100 million in China and opened in first place in all 66 international territories where the film was released, including India where it beat local Hindi film ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’.

Jurassic World set the opening weekend record at the worldwide box office, collecting $525 million (Rs 3373 crore) by beating the previous record set by ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2’ in 2011.

In India, Jurassic World has taken the third highest opening of 2015 after ‘Fast and Furious 7’ and ‘Avengers – The Age Of Ultron’. It has collected Rs 23 crore in 4 days.

  • Saw both Jurassic world and hak at the theatre.I know both the movies are of different genre but even though Jurassic world is a great movie I liked hamari adhuri kahaani more

  • I really don’t want to see Hunger Games on this list..
Seriously how people like such a movie!! which relays on violence.
One thing i noticed, in almost every movies, which portrays the future world, there is least importance for human rights even it is in a civilized culture…Eg Minority report,Divergent,Hunger Games..etc.

Any way good collections so far…Will wait for YIFI…

  • @shaheer
hunger games is better than all sarook films. Its fun to watch and there is jennifer lawrence

  • Ohh my God..I am dead reading these comments of rajeev masand fan ..Too hilarious, lol

Btw,Did’nt know that Avengers age of Ultron could’nt even surpass the weekend collections of its prequel The Avengers!! which is really strange coz as far as boxoffice trends are concerned here in india almost all sequels open better than their prequels only exception may be Murder 3 not crossing Murder 2.

  • Hamari Adhuri Kahaani is 100 times better than Jurassic world…

Don’t trust hak reviews.. They were paid negative reviews made by abcd2 n DDD team to create negative response from Tuesday Night…

  • @shaggy
what abot dark knight rises? i think its bettr than over rated dark knight. Only joker was the gud thing abt dark knight and the shocking death of ledger helped the film

  • @she heer
minority report is an excellent film nobody can dislike that film and i dnt know what ur talking abot? . My advice:stop reading sarook’s tweets

  • NO AVATAR IN TOP TEN WEEKEND WORLDWIDE?FILM THAT GROWSED MORE THEN 2 BILLION US DOLLARS WORLD WIDE IN IRS LIFE TIME?

  • hunger games 1 and 2 are watchable but part 3 was totaly bokwas.

friends plz tell howa was the tour in jurassic world in 3D version..i want to watch it in 3D ,

  • Having seen JP and the other two hollywood biggies its evident that even though the 3 films have opened so HUGE they still lack the repeat value of an Avatar or Inception… Lifetime records of an Avatar or Titanic are safe coz at the moment franchise /sequel movies dont offer anything new/ unique which an Avatar offered hence the $2 billion worldwide mark wont be crossed until Avatar 2 releases in next few yrs…! Hollywood is experiencing what bollywood went through 5 yrs ago n that is the 100cr club phenomenon or in their case the $1 billion worldwide club as most big films ae easily crossing this figure now irrespective of great content but rely more on brand value. The exception in both industries is that unique film alas an Avatar or PK that is miles ahead of the rest.

  • @rangila

Instead of looking at numbers look at footfalls n you will see bolywood isnt that insignificant… Price of ticket variance results in inflated revenues in USA as market conditions in both countries are not the same YET

  • wow mind blown!!! chris pratt is definitely one of the biggest star now. looking forward to guardians of the galaxy 2

  • Out of all the movies in the list, the dark knight and the dark knight rises stand out because they were released only in 2D. Had they been released in 3D then both would have easily crossed 200 million dollars in their first weekends

  • @sky huge gap b/w budgets of these movies too
    pk budget – 100 cr
jurassic world budget – 1000 cr
also the difference b/w dollars and rupees comes into play
and in the end english is an universal language and hollywood movies have way bigger market than bollywood movies

  • @ultrone, I never said I disliked Majority report,read my comments again.
I noticed onething common in all these movies which I don’t like…

  • Humongous indeed. TDKR could have broken the records in North America had it not been for that tragic incident consists of a real life clown.

  • u die as a hero or live long enough to see yourself became a villain……
the dark night..greatest movie ever..I watched it more than 50 times.
heath freaking ledger…and one of the two movie whice every dialogue is quotable(other one was SHOLAY)
