Jodha Akbar opened slowly at the Indian Box-office, largely due to the fact that the epic love story had a restricted release at multiplexes across the country, due to disputes between the producers of the movie and multiplex owners.
Saturday, the disputes were settled and the Hrithik Roshan – Aishwarya Rai starrer released all over. The audience response to the movie was very positive and so were the critic reviews which resulted in excellent business for the movie. According to Box Office India, the collections on Saturday were almost double compared to Friday.
The movie is expected to do business worth 16 – 17 crores during the weekend, which is great for a movie of this genre. Remember a historical has never worked in a long time. Even Aamir Khan with Mangal Pandey failed and so did Shahrukh Khan with Asoka.
Can Hrithik do what SRK and Aamir couldn’t? Lets wait and watch!

aesthetically excellent,visually perfect, musically a dream and after all its a Ashutosh’ movie……..but hey whre are the gray shades of Akbar? He was great but not flawless………..and yes where is Din-e-elahi? ………BUT STILL I WILL SEE IT AGAIN.

What is wrong with you people? Jodha Akbar was one of the most boring movies I have seen recently. Not only this movie is historically inaccurate, it is boooooring and long and tedious for no reson. Hritik and Aishwarya did well. The settings are ok, but it could have been better (definitely not in par with a hollywood movie). Please do not compare this mediocre movie to hollywood classics… Yes, you can compare Tare Zameer par and Chak De – those two movies are like any other hoolywood movie, but not Jodha Akbar. This movie is way too long..may be someone can edit this movie and make it better.
I hated every minute of this terrible movie. The director showed Rajputs as conspiring against Akbar. Just give me a break! Hello, Akbar is the invader and Rajputs are trying to protect their homeland! It is a disgrace that this guy tried to portray Rajputs as cowardly villans. Shame on you people for praising this stupid movie. Even if you ignore all all that stuff, Jodha Akbar is still a badly made movie. Plain Boring and Stupid.

excellent performence by hrithick and ash. it is a must watch movie. The direction, story, photography, fight scenes, romance and the the chemistry between ash and hrithick are simply excellent esspecially the music. Hats of to hrithick , ARR , Ash and ashutosh govarikar. It is the outstanding and the best film in the bollywood industry.
only those guys who love nonsensical david dhawan comnedies and cumb thrillers have got their sensibiltities too blunted to appreciate movies like JA and swadesh. I am sure u guys didnt like TZP either.

This is one well made movie. Its not like the typical masala (Om Shanti Om) type movie. These are the types of movies that are already making Indian Cinema move ahead. Yes its long, but the subject cannot be compressed futher. Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments were not short movies for the same reason.

I think the movie is really very good. Its strange that ppl who hav said that the movie is not gud jus had one reason of it being boring and have no actual reasons as to y its not gud……i think its a well crafted movie wit good performance and is a must watch to see how 1500’s in india felt like…..and the mughal period….
I have already watched it TWICE in the first 3 days. I am PROUD to see the indian cinema moving ahead. The movie is EXCEPTIONAL. The Best Bollywood movie for the last 25 years. HRITIK REALLLY DOES DESERVE AN AWARD AND ALSO ASHUTOSH. There is much hard work behind this movie. I WAS REALLY SATISFIED TO SEE SUCH PROGRESS IN INDIAN CINEMA. A great epic love story but more battles and wars should have been included. The scene when Jodha cooked with her own hands for Akbar has taken a long time and all the things were time wasting and rubbish including a lot of love scenes.
