Okay, the final box office comparison between the two Diwali releases Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardar, before we begin our extensive coverage of Aamir Khan’s Talaash.
The topic of debate over the last week on social networking websites and in the comments section here - Which film won the Diwali battle? Well, there is no clear winner. Here’s why.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan was expected to beat 3 Idiots. But let’s be realistic, the film would never have crossed 200 crores, even if the word-of-mouth was as strong as Chopra’s last film Veer Zaara. But despite the clash, not-so-popular music and 3 hour runtime – JTHJ has done reasonably well at the box office. Yes, business in India hasn’t been record-breaking, but how many romantic films in recent times have managed to collect half as much as JTHJ has?
The trade was confident Son Of Sardar would do well, and it has. On paper, JTHJ had almost everything in it’s favour – massive star cast, legendary director, oscar-winning music composer and a much wider release. Yet, SOS is likely to end it’s run just 10-15% short of JTHJ’s total.
As expected, the SRK – Katrina Kaif starrer quite easily won the first extended weekend with a lead of Rs 15 crores. Since then, both films have done similar business with SOS putting up better numbers in the second weekend.

well the fact is SRK ‘s popularity has dipped a bit…well it happened with every superstar in the past… but SRK is lucky that he still has not given a box office flop and last 3 movies have all been 100 crore films.. even he himself has said that in an interview that his time as a superstar is reducing day by day…
but inspite of the negativity the fact remains that he has given 4 hits(MNIK,Ra.One,Don2,JTHJ(superhit)) in different genres after 3 blockbusters(OSO,Chak de,RNBDJ)
I never see any challenge from SRK to SK since 4 years now check the box office collection moreover I am surprised to see SRK on screen lip lock in JTHJ which he never did in his whole carrier yes Maya Memsaab some steamy scene but not clear lip lock and no doubt JTHJ lip lock scenes are without any logic nor any passion why he does it? for hit or for blockbusters even Yashji direction never seen any bikini shot which Anushka did and one more backless scene of Katrina is there any need? not at all.
Look at Salman for ETT they request many times Kabir / Adtiye but he simple refused no I will not do this, Tell me one thing will you see JTHJ with your sister,your kids,with your mom dad will you ask yourself. One more thing BLOCKBUSTER means what? A film became blockbuster when more and more people like to see and watch it in cinema so don’t ignore people choice as old said ‘ye public hai ye sab janti hai’ people love masala flick a clean movie which people can sit in cinema and enjoy with whole family and now SRK understand that his upcoming movies are all masala flick.

All srk fans, now you all are blaming masala films & questioning the standard about sos or so called other masala films. Where were you before release of jthj or in 2000 -08 when srk was doing cheap masala films like oso, mhn. Allmost all the mainstream superstarr have done masala entertainments in some phase of their career. I strongly believe that jjhj woukd be a blocbuster if it would have been realeased back in 2000-08, because that was his prime time.The truth is that srk’s star power is decreasing. You say jtjh is classic, never. Srk’s appearance for a 28 year, repeat acting was never convincing, so many loopholes. If you want to listen, tell me. I will post here. You say jtjh did not do great business because it was classic. Then see talaash & its bo collection. You say 3i did 202 cr business because of content, then who stopped srk from signing 3i? Choosing a good script & taking risk on that is also quality, what srk never possesed. Accept the fact that srk is no more the king of bollywood. Difference between previous Yashraj movies and JTHJ
* People would love to watch Yash Chopra movies, because they were family oriented
with entertainment and a message (social or personal relationship) in those movies.
* Yash Chopra knows how to look his heroines beautiful & sexy without any kissing and exposing clothes.
* The hero was the real sacrificer in his movies, remember Amitabh in Trishul n Deewar.
* Complete entertainer for families.
JTJH:
* Not a family oriented movie, cannot bear kissing and bed scenes.
* In London winter, heroines are always in above knee closthing except one scene in which Katrina wears a Saree.
* The hero is big selfish, he even challenges his creator (God). what a hero man!!!!
* Complete boring, retarding, sleepy and bakwaas movie.
I would not blame Late Yash Chopra for this, people like SRK has spoiled Yashji’s last movie
for his personal gains.
* Added kissing and bed scenes with Katrina for a personal reason (Though the person is least bothered
whom SRK wants to show and make him jealous). Later naming as per script demanded.
I would have believe SRK if he has done such cheap things in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna as the movie

* Using Salman’s name to get single screen pre booked. (I am sure it wud have been SRK idea else Yash Raj
lost faith in SRK and didnt had confidence about movie or SRK capability).
And those who shouting about overseas records, in foreign countries, kissing, bed scenes and sex are common
things hence people are loving such cheap SRK movies. They do not have any cultural values atleast as

so now until thursday jthj will max do 5,6 crores & so jthj will not even cross don2 lifetime collections since talaash releases on 30th ….!
with decreasing fans srk films collections also decreasing…
