In what is being seen as a smart move, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has partially averted the much-hyped clash between his film, which has now been titled ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ and Akshay Kumar’s next ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’.
The move to release ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ a week earlier than it was previously scheduled is a confident one, because the content of the film has to be good for it to take advantage of the ‘Independence Day’ holiday on August 15.
But like ‘Kaabil’ earlier this year, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ too could prepone its date, to take advantage of the Raksha Bandhan on August 8. Otherwise, ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ faces the risk of a ‘Chennai Express’ vs ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara’ like situation – if ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ turns out to be a good film and finds acceptance.
The title itself – Jab Harry Met Sejal – is a quirky one that could remind the audience of Imtiaz Ali’s career-best film ‘Jab We Met’. It’s also the title that was eventually the picked after the working title ‘The Ring’ and the rumoured ones ‘Rehnuma’ and ‘Raula’.
Also starring Anushka Sharma as the female lead, ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ is Shah Rukh Khan’s second release of 2017.

For your info, hollywood’s biggest star tom cruise hasn’t given any blockbuster apart from MI series in last 10 years and on other hands vin diesel, RDJ, Sam Worthington (Avatar fame), Leo, and many other stars have been giving huge mega blockbusters since last few years. But stop they are not considered bigger than tom cruise in global popularity. Similarly srk hasn’t given 250 cr or 300 cr grossers doesn’t mean he is below other stars who are giving blockbusters. Its all about right script which makes all difference.

What Happened During CE vs OUATIMD was a Sabotage by Srk… He only released 1060 screens on 15th Aug being d 8th Day 2nd week,It took Bumper Opening on the opening day frm d Morning show itself but PAID Media showed 11cr Nett from 1060screens as flop and compared it with 3700+ screens of CE..
One should be fair.. Not selfish…..

It is good move because all srk movies in past open well but fail yo sustain after weekends.This is first time srk got monday partial holiday which will boost the collection in first week.So First weekend will be 65 to 70cr range monday-10 cr first week will be 110 to 120cr and then its upto content and wom of TEPK if JHMS gets decent wom then 175cr possible and if get positive wom like then CE record can be broken..that is smart move by Srk and Team..but i thought title is looking like more multiplex orieneted masses will watch movie after the review.
