Answer: The response to the trailer is good and the extended holiday weekend should help. But to take a 15 crore plus opening, the film should get a good opening in mass centres too. The title could be the only problem here, a more mass-appealing title would have ensured higher footfalls at smaller centres too. We think, Baby will be a good film that will rely on word-of-mouth to be Akshay’s biggest grosser.
Q: When is the release date of Tamasha and Bajirao Mastani?
A: Currently, both films are scheduled to release during Christmas 2015. The situation is similar to earlier this year, when Bombay Velvet and Welcome Back were targeting Christmas releases. Just because SRK has a legacy of good films people expect each of his film to be as good as his previous movies and break box office records.But people need to realize that films like MNIk,Don2 or JTHJ cannot cross the 200 crore mark since such films don’t work at all in single screens.His masala films have done record breaking business in India which proves he is still one of the most successful actor in India
Want Tamasha to thrash SLB. SLB can’t think beyond epic love stories/physical disabilities.
From Khamoshi the musical (Which was a brilliant movie) to Ram Leela (contest of Hamming) he has done only 2 ideas.
1. Failed Love stories: Devdas, HDDCS, Ram leela, Sawaariya
2. Disabilities: Khamoshi, Guzaarish, Black.
On the other hand, we have directors like Shimit Amin and Shooji Sircar trying to reinvent themselves with each movie. Still they say SLB is a brilliant film-maker. And then there is Ranveer Singh who apart from Lootera, just sleepwalks in each movie.
Hoping to see Tamasha or Raes next December. SLB shouldn’t spoil the party!

2. Two 100 cr+ movies overseas (only Amir is having this record).
3. Back to back 100 Cr movies (Only Salman is ahead of him).
4. Back to back 200 Cr grossers worldwide (sharing the top spot only with Salman)
So didn’t you check above facts before posting that question??

This man can make any one cry in the dark room with his intense acting. That’s the persona he has.

I admit I give up! I cannot compete with Shah Rukh Khan for my baby’s attention. She is barely two-and-a-half years old but his biggest fan. Mind you, she has not seen any of his films. All she has seen are some of his songs, his pictures in the morning newspaper and some remarks about him made by my maid. That’s all. That’s enough for her to make her his biggest fan.
I am not exaggerating. The moment he is on screen, she swoons, she blushes and is all smiles. The first thing she does when the newspaper comes is to hunt for his picture. Then she caresses the picture, kisses it and stares at it as if it’s a slice of gooey chocolate cake of the highest quality.
I agree SRK is a chocolate dish for most women but a two-and-a-half year old being so crazy about him is unfathomable. I knew a large part of SRK’s success is his fan following with kids but kids of this age is a little too much to believe. But believe I have to as I am seeing it unfold in front of my eyes everyday.
I am paranoid about my daughter watching television. I strictly monitor what she consumes visually. There is no filmy talk in our house apart from our work. I am as much a fan of SRK as I am of other things in life but not to the point of no return.
Then when, where and how did he sneak into my daughter’s life? How has he gained so much importance where even I, her mother, have to compete to get her attention? So much so that now to make her eat, we have to say that SRK is watching and if she eats he will be visiting our home. And that’s enough for her to open her mouth. Phew!
I think this is one of the biggest challenges of parenting today – to keep Bollywood and its stars out of our homes. It’s a mighty difficult task given the onslaught of Bollywood in every way possible. Earlier you had to go to a theatre to get a taste of these stars. Now they are everywhere, the Internet, the TV, the newspapers, on radio, in conversations, in schools, in birthday parties, just about everywhere.
I think our babies are growing up 7 to 8 years earlier than we did. I was crazy about a star when I was around 12 to 14 years old. My daughter has achieved that milestone at almost 3.
SRK must be smiling, I am not. Perhaps he is right when he sang, “Jaanam dekh lo mit gayi dooriyan, mai yahan hu, yahan hu, yahan hu yahan”. He is literally everywhere. Once again it is proven that nothing sells like SRK. Because if a baby is sold on you, the whole family will eat out of your hands.
I envy SRK, almost hate him but then how can I hate the man my baby loves the most? God, wasn’t I supposed to think of this question once she was 18 years old or more!!

I am a srk fan too but srk has been behind aamir and salman for 7-8 years now. Every time we expect srk to break the records he falls short of it where as salman has been consistent in giving blockbusters and aamir in setting a benchmark. I expected happy new year to perform much better but it still couldn’t beat kick and or even chennai express. If he continues doing films like happy new year he will be further behind salman and aamir. May be srk hasn’t lost stardom but salman just has more. Even overseas happy new year didn’t beat chennai express. Or maybe we expect more from srk than he gives. I am eagerly waiting for fan but as other people who say fan will be the highest grosser i dont think so. I think fan might be competing for 3rd highest grosser in 2015 and lower if the content is on the same level as happy new year(which could be the case).
Remember *SRK has 3.6 billion fans* still he hasn’t given single highest grosser since last 7 years :D
