The IIFA Awards 2016 has just concluded in Spain. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani has won a total of 12 awards in both the popular and technical award categories at the IIFA, which was held in Madrid this year.
Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan was declared as the Best Film of 2016. Ranveer Singh walked away with yet another Best Actor trophy for his performance in Bajirao Mastani. Deepika Padukone was given away the Best Actress trophy for her ‘Piku’ act.

BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN without a dought best film since 3 Idiots was released.BAJRAO MASTANI was a wonderfull made film and Ranveer deserves best actor,PIKU is one of the most overrated film i have ever seen.
Akshay is the only actor going great films like Baby, Holiday, Airlift, Rustom while every other actor is doing crap films like PRDP, CE, Dhoom 3, Bang Bang, Son of Sardar.

When I saw d special effects of Tamasha I was so impressed. When I saw PRDP visual effects I was thrilled but still thought being tight pals Salman recommended his newly established billion rupees vfx studio. Later kept my eyes glued with the stunt scenes from Dilwale and then before watching BM I was so thrilled again that people passionately praised the special effects of the movie…
Always proud when we see our own bollywood industry create/launch world standard innovations products and hence cutting big costs from hiring foreign experts to improve our cinematography.
Now I have full confidence d special effects of Shivaay will be something else!!

Ranveer Singh had a very tough role in Bajirao and he did put in the effort, but he was largely unconvincing and inconsistent as peshwa bajirao. On the other hand Deepika was flawless in Piku but hers wasn’t the best performance of the year either. But hey when did they say they were going to award the deserving winners. RUBBISH.
IIFA has really helped Bollywood in strengthening the notion that our films are all about colours, singing and dancing. There are less awards and more performances.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan was anytime better than Bajirao Mastani for me. And Bajrangi Bhaijaan deserved in popular category! Piku deserved in critics , although I don’t like the differentiation of popular and critics though.
Piku was best movie of last year for me.
Best debut female should have been Bhumi from Dum Laga ke Haisa. And God knows why all functions ignore Nawaz for Badlapur. By far the best performance of last year.
I don’t think Baby deserved any award. It had loopholes. For a thriller , pace consistency is highly necessary. But Baby was okayish in first half and very good in second half. Over all, a nice movie! Akshay Kumar deserved a nomination for best lead. But I would anytime place Ranveer and Big B over him.
Bajirao Mastani was indeed a nice movie, but I find it overrated! It was not too consistent and some parts looked over-melodramatic! But it had outstanding performances, brilliant cinematography and great production design!!
My favorite albums of last year is Bombay Velvet, Badlapur and Hamari Adhuri Kahaani.. None of the Roy tracks have stayed with me!

Hrithik Fans do not want to admit that the baby deserves to be a winner, well, ok. But at least he should have been nominated, but it was ignored at all ceremonies. Anil Kapoor best supporting actor joke? I would have given the award Jackie Shroff,for Brothers he was terrific. Deepika won? I’m not surprised, all the awards copy and duplicate each other if Kangana had no principles and danced at every ceremony, she would have won any award with ease. For me Baby Brothers and Badlapur were the best films of 2015
