Housefull 3 has performed fairly well yet again on Day 5 (Tuesday) at the box office. Some single-screen centres have witnessed bigger than expected drops, which could also be because of the Ramzan factor coming into play.
But overall, the business of film remained solid. The film has collected around 7 – 7.25 crore, as per early estimates on Tuesday night. The average drop at the centres we tracked was 14% from Monday.
The hold seems to be slightly better than ‘Welcome Back’ on the same day last year – although we’d have to wait for the official figures for the confirmation.
Housefull 3 has collected Rs 68-69 crore in 5 days and should get close to the 80 crore mark by the end of its first week. The Akshay Kumar starrer will beat films like Baaghi, Kapoor & Sons and Neerja on Wednesday. It should also go on to become the 2nd highest grosser of the year in its second weekend, which would also mean Akshay films will take the Top 2 spots in the first half of 2016.
Will Housefull 3 beat the collections of the previous film Housefull 2? Does it have any chance of outgrossing Airlift? These questions will be answered in the second weekend.

When I decided to go for Housefull 3, I didn’t have any kind of expectations. I was not expecting any strong writing, any long-lasting characters or any kind of brilliant acting because it was the project of the same directors who had previously made the cringe-inducing Entertainment. So I went for it only to have some fun. But sadly, I couldn’t get it!
House full 3 is a boring movie with wearisome dialogues, tiring writing and mostly pathetically-written characters. Obviously the dialogues are the worst things about the movie which will make you hate all the characters.
Directors Sajid-Farhad apply the same formulas here. Entertainment had dialogues like “I rajnikan’t believe, Sonakshi Sinha tan ke..” and so on. In Housefull3, we find the outdated PJs of Facebook and WhatsApp. I wonder if the attempt of Hindi transformation of English phrases (played by the three dumb looking ladies) make people laugh? Boman Irani also delivers dated dialogues like “Dil ka Door bada hona Chahiye, Window toh computer mein bhi hai” ! Jacky Shroff’s character also get ruined with the stupid concept of talking short forms.
The film gets too tedious with the repeated sequences of these dialogues.
The three leading girls in the movie behave as if they are competing against each other for a competition named “So you think you can be dumb”. They have been completely wasted in the movie. Similarly, Boman Irani and Shroff fail to shine in the film thanks to their poorly-written parts.
The three boys are somehow the saving grace of the film. I laughed during the introductory scenes of Ritesh and Abhishek. Those sequences were silly , but they gave a genuine smile on my face. The split personality disorder concept of Akshay Kumar’s character could have been much better with a better writing. Sundi character gets ruined with over the top acting. Similarly, Ritesh’s character gets tedious by the overuse of wrong pronunciation concept. Even though these guys doesn’t do anything much in terms of their performances, they still get much better parts than the other actors in the movie. In the chunky movie, Chunky Pandey has nothing much to do. His character doesn’t bring anything special.
Coming to the positive aspects in the film, I found a few sequences in the climax genuinely funny. In the entire movie, I laughed only twice.
The emotions in the climax don’t click at all.
So over all, Housefull3 is a tiring, unfunny movie and a pseudoentertainer . The tedious attempt of inducing stupid dialogues is the worst part of it.
Housefull3 is only for the fools who can laugh at anything like “ek bar ghadi ke upar” (Hindi translation of once upon a time)! Is this really funny?
Housefull 3 is on par with Entertainment.

Bollywood Comedy is in a right old mess. If this is the best we have to offer then I don’t think will ever compete with Hollywood. Split disorder and racist humour..well, have to wait Hate Story 4 instead.?

Ajay Devgan’s outstanding comedy movie Golmal3 collected 107crs releasing in Diwali.Houseful 3 which is a decent watch but can not be called as great will collect much more then Golmal3, the franchisee movie of our great Ajay devgan. Lets see if Shivay can reach 100crs or again Ajay will use his calculator to round up 80-90crs to 100..like his old movies Singham, bol bachhan and SOS.

Such a massive disappointment. This was always meant to be the biggest movie of Akkiholic career with big franchise, 4 free weeks lots of promotion buzz but still very similar to John Abraham welcome back? even if it skips Housefull 2 with a margin of 5 cr still that’s a big disappointment. Worst brainless comedy I have ever seen. I will rather watch Dhamaal. Custam stands no chance now. Like I said if Shahid had done Airlift collection would still be 100 cr okay not 128 but around 110 cr. H3 will barely cross Golmaal 3 2010 lifetime mark my words. Khan’s and Hrithik rocks
