A decision has been taken to exclusively screen Abhishek Chaubey’s controversial film ‘Udta Punjab’ to filmmaker Shyam Benegal, who heads the central government’s censor board revamp committee.
The decision comes after filmmaker Anurag Kashyap decided to make the issue public by taking the social and mainstream media route. In a series of tweets, Kashyap slammed the board for its issues with the film.
Benegal has said he would be able to comment on the controversy once he watches the movie.
“I don’t know the actual matter as I have not seen the film. I will see it tomorrow and then only I can say something. Before that, it is not fair on my part to comment or say anything on it” Benegal was quoted as saying by PTI.
The Censor Board of Film Certification has raised certain objections to the Shahid Kapoor - Alia Bhatt – Kareena Kapoor Khan film after references were made to the drug addiction issue in Punjab.
come on pass it without any cuts man…let us see the reality of Punjab

From the Censor Board’s point of view.. if they buckle down to media pressure each and every time, then every producer will want his film to be passed without cuts. If they don’t, these filmmakers will take to Twitter and create outrage.
Why can’t Anurag Kashyap follow the rules which have been in existence for years?? Isn’t there a Tribunal or whatever it is called, which can be approached if Censor Board rejects??
I think he just wants to get his film passed asap and release it when there is hype.
I’m also thinking why the other producer Ekta Kapoor is not talking about?? Why is Anurag Kashyap acting like a mad man on news channels?? Like the world has ended for him??!!!?
Very few people are seeing the other side of the story, which is very sad.

Watched Houseful 3 for the 3rd time and what an amazing entertaining experience it was.
Now i would rate it 4/5
Housefull 3 is the best comedy of the year.
A special screening should be arranged for Nipun as well. Cannot wait to read his Udta Punjab review.
Heard he did his PhD in “How to be a Lootera-loving intelligent film critic”.
Not as great as Lootera. Udta Punjab cinematography doesn’t have the urinatory ammonia yellow glow of Lootera.
just completed watching hf3 for the 4th time and it was quite good. it gets to u after repeat viewing..
i sat to watch ddd for 2nd time on lappy n hell it was a pathetic film. could not even complete it.

i did not like crap music of udta punjab.. amit trivedi is out of form after disastrous bombay velvet music.
Nipun is a more intelligent and strict critic then me. The day I explode because of my excess weight, Nipun will succeed me as No 2 critic after KRK.
Udta sultan is looking epic. I cannat wait to watch it. Salman Kapoor is brilliant actor. He is playing a wrestler and a rock star named tommy Ali khan in Udta sultan.
It will get good reviews from critics.
