2016 has been a fairly good year for the Hindi Film Industry. The box office collections of all films combined in the first 5 months of 2016 is higher than the same January – May period last year.
But apart from ‘Baaghi’ and ‘The Jungle Book’, no other film has managed to make a mark at smaller centres. In fact, the share of business generated from multiplexes has nearly touched 90% this year.
This could be because there hasn’t been a film featuring a top superstar that has held appeal towards every section of the audience. ‘Airlift’ was targeted at the multiplex audience in cities and didn’t even release at most single-screens. ‘FAN’ had a wide release and even took a initial, but the film had very little in it for the masses.
That brings us to ‘Housefull 3’. A established and much-loved franchise, a superstar with a big following at smaller centres (multiplex audience are returning to watch his films too) and actors (Akshay and Riteish) with arguably the best comic timing in the industry. The film also has a favourable release period – which falls just after the conclusion of the IPL season. Music is not very important for this genre of films, but the only problem could be the mixed response to the theatrical trailer. Nevertheless, Housefull 3 should open big on Friday with content deciding the fate of the film Saturday onwards.
‘Housefull 3’ has it all and is truly one of the biggest films of 2016, but highly-anticipated big films featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead, haven’t really worked at the box office in the last few years. ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara’ was arguably his most-awaited film, but it was a major failure both in terms of content and collections. ‘Brothers’, another Akshay Kumar biggie, suffered the same fate too.
All eyes will be on ‘Housefull 3′ this weekend. It’s a big film that has to score big. Anything less than what the previous film in the franchise ’Housefull 2’ collected (116 crore) would be considered a disappointment.

Yes,the theatrical trailer was a disappointment.A Akshay kumar’s and ritesh’s presentation of the character seems to be Bang on but there is something missing .the music is somewhat descent and so are the dialogue promos too but one expects more from a big Akshay Kumar comedy film..the opening should be the biggest for an Akshay Kumar starrer..it has to beat the opening day of FAN..also it should score that huge 60 crore nett weekend which would possibly mean the hold during the weekdays at high levels..let’s hope for the best..
H3 is the biggest movie of 2016 till now . Akshay regained his form after Airlift . Both the Housefull movies were very successful to say the least . Housefull was the 4th Highest Grosser of 2010 H2 was the 1st 100 CR Grosser for Akshay . In this decade there have been only few Comedy movies that have performed well . G3, Bol Bachchan, Housefull, H2, SOS and Fukrey . I have not been impressed with the trailer and dialogue promos . I don’t have too many expectations from H3 but if it turns out to be an entertaining experience than it can surprise everybody as Sequels have performed really well irrespective of their content . The opening day collections will be awesome but the weekdays will decide how far it can go . This is the Best chance for Akshay to beat RR . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since 2000 Salman has only 2 films with a rating of 7 or above on IMDB and Akki has 13 films.

For Housefull3 I can gaurntee that this will be a better laugh riot than both previous part Housefull and Housefull2.
Trailer was better than Sultan.

Few Gobar fans are jumping like a monkey, I think they forget what happen last year, 4 movies and all are underperformers…this time when new comer like Ranveer who crosses 180cr even with the clash (that too with Srk) this small star Gobar is struggling to cross 100cr mark…and I remember last year all Akki fans are hiding like a rats after the debacle year of Akki performance…they forget that Airlift saved Akki, but even with the positive WOM Gobar is struggling to cross his own record which he make in 2012….Out of 5-6 movies he give one good movie which means Gobar is surviving in the Industry only because of luck….and his fans talk about content, and success I think this is the biggest joke….
