Akshay Kumar has 3 films in the 100 crore club and the big question over the next few days is going to be if Airlift can be his 5th. It’ll be an important landmark for Akshay because none of his films in 2015 could cross 100 and Airlift is arguably his best movie in the last few years. Also, the film has an extended 5-day weekend, with the Republic Day holiday falling on Tuesday.
With no major multiplex film (in other words, a film that holds appeals towards the urban audience /classes), scheduled to release in the next couple of weeks, we would be tracking down the collections to see if Airlift can go on to beat films like ‘Holiday: A Solder Is Never Off Duty’, ‘Housefull 2’ and Akshay’s biggest grosser ‘Rowdy Rathore’.

Un donon ke uttam darje ka hai between apart from classy both of them are selfmade superstars both given us an average of 1 year per hit/blockbuster unlike non actor chulbul pandey who started his career just 6 year ago not 24 or 25 years ago.

Airlift will surely cross Rowdy Rathore and emerge a BB collecting more than 150cr,it’s such a shame that Akki only has 4 films in the 100cr club.
Airlift has had an super strong hold on Monday as collections should surpass 9 crore nett and with the evening collections which will be strong due to the next day being a national holiday it may even hit the 10 crore nett mark.
The collections in mass centres are similar to Friday morning (better at places as they did not open or do that well over the weekend) but more crucially the drop in big cities is minimal and in these places it had strong weekend and the drop in ticket prices also comes into play.
If the evening collections come in as expected it will be a 10% drop on Monday for the film and it may turn out a 10 crore nett Monday which would be a first for an Akshay Kumar starrer..
Akshay is doing good movies more good movies than ajay devgn srk sir and hrithik but he is not in a league of salman Aamir airlift is a v good movie if salman would be casted in it sure shot 300 CR for those akshay fans akshay had 4release per year so what salman in 1999 top 3 grosser 1.hssh 2.biwi no 1 3.HDDs HRHRIhik in 2006 top two grosser 1.dhoom and krissh salman khan in 2011 2012 2015 top two grosser why not akshay Kumar can give at least 4out of 3 top 3 grosser like salman in 1999 NO EXCUSES AKSHAY IS GOOD ACTOR BUT STARDOM WAS IS SALMAN KHAN

Airlift should beat rowdy rathore it has held and sustained well and tommorow is a holiday – its a good film congrats team airlift and akkians – very good
My comment may not be completely relevant here – I’m a devoted Shahrukh Khan fan and I dont hate ANY actor – what I fail to understand is why people cant appreciate good films regardless of religion etc. Instead fans start bashing because they are insecure- why?
If this film had Hrithik or Shah rukh khan it must have scored 100 cr today

But akshay highest grossers average 2700-2800 screens on non festive periods which pulls down his earnings….
Why doesnt he release a masala movie on diwali or eid with high screen count…
