Akshay Kumar has 3 films in the 100 crore club and the big question over the next few days is going to be if Airlift can be his 5th. It’ll be an important landmark for Akshay because none of his films in 2015 could cross 100 and Airlift is arguably his best movie in the last few years. Also, the film has an extended 5-day weekend, with the Republic Day holiday falling on Tuesday.
With no major multiplex film (in other words, a film that holds appeals towards the urban audience /classes), scheduled to release in the next couple of weeks, we would be tracking down the collections to see if Airlift can go on to beat films like ‘Holiday: A Solder Is Never Off Duty’, ‘Housefull 2’ and Akshay’s biggest grosser ‘Rowdy Rathore’.

Airlift is surely gonna be biggest hit of akshay..a must watch film for every indian..i luv my country and all its citizens irrespective of region,religion,caste,sex,etc.
Even YJHD/BM/DILWALE of Ranbir/Ranveer/Varun have crossed 150 cr now but AKSHAY KUMAR & AJAY DEVGAN being 20 years senior to them yet to touch 150 cr

@Deadpool, doesn’t work that way. Airlift doesn’t have a big market at mass centres, which is why it had a smaller release. Only commercial entertainer get 4000 plus screens. Baby had 2500 screen release last year, it was a solo release but with limited appeal.
My bhai’s jai ho did 112 crore with 4500 screens here akki can do 100 plus with just 2300 screens. Still my salman bhai rocks ??

Airlift has beaten the figures of Rowdy Rathore Worldwide. The film is behind Brothers and Singh Is Bling in terms of Worldwide collections but both these films had major holiday in the first three days in India. The Worldwide gross is 73 crore. The top five Akshay Kumar opening weekends Worldwide are as follows.1. Brothers – 81 crore2. Singh Is Bling – 77.50 crore3. Airlift – 73 crore apprx4. Rowdy Rathore – 71 crore5. Housefull 2 – 70 croreThe 100 crore weekend is still missing butmaybe Housefull 3 will correct that. Airlift had fair business Overseas with Gulf and North America doing $1.5 million apprx between them.
