Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, known for some of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Indian Cinema, has expressed his desire to work with Tamil actor Suriya.
“I hope I get to work with Suriya someday. He’s a fabulous actor and I’ve seen some of his impressive work” Hirani told reporters on Monday, at the audio launch of Tamil film ‘Irudhi Suttru’, which has been made in Hindi as ‘Saala Khadoos’.
Suriya attended the event as a special guest.
Hirani has co-produced both films, starring R. Madhavan, with S. Sashikanth and C.V. Kumar.
Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film also stars Ritika Singh and Mumtaz Sorcar in important roles. According to Sudha, it was Madhavan who was instrumental in getting Hirani on board.
“It was Madhavan who took the project to Hirani when we were facing some financial issues” she said.
In the film, Madhavan plays a boxing coach who has a reputation of being a hard task-master.

Indicine this is good of you sometimes posting articles on our south cinema. I am happy. Surya is arguably the 2nd or 3rd at most biggest franchise brand superstar in Tamil cinema. I am very excited if he will act with Hirani Sir. Here In south people call him Aamir khan of the south. He selects his scripts and does not just sign movies like that. Some of his movies were remade in Bollywood like Force Singham Ghajni but That is why I respect bollywood because bollywood has gone so far. You people movies are loved in the south here. Salman Srk Aamir are very popular and liked so much. Even the Hritik Ajay Akshay are loved. I am happy south and north are going to do Robot 2. We are Indians so let’s join hand and make India cinema compete step by step with Hollywood. Even Hollywood acknowledge how India cinema is transforming. Also I will also want to congratulate fans of all the 6 leading superstars of bollywood today. It is difficult to see south cinema still crazy for almost 6 actors for over 20 years who have done tremendous hardwork not to even mention Shah Rukh Khan Aamir and Salman Khan especially. they don’t want to know they are above 50 which is just phenomenon. I hope Surya will be appreciated if he do a movie with bollywood again. He has said before he has great respect for bollywood. I remember like 3 years back he personally invited Ajay Devgn sir to chennai for his movie screening but due to bad weather Ajay Devgn was stuck Suriya than specifically made sure he sent his Falcon Airplane to pick Ajay unfortunately Ajay could not make it but that’s too show you how he acknowledge Bollywood. As a director I have huge respect for raju hirani for giving epic classics 3 idiots, pk, MB series. However I am highly excited for Sanjay dutt’s biopic and want to see how much it earns. I would love to see and excited to see if it can match 3 idiots record? If it doesn’t then it will be a tight slaps on the faces of all aamir haters.

I feel we have some amazing talent down south that need to tapped.
If you look at Bollywood’s young lot the cupboard of talent is pretty empty. Ranbir, Ranveer, Sushant, Rajkumar Rao and Varun dhawan to some extent are the only few who can act.
Talents like Suriya, Prabhas, Mahesh babu, Allu Arjun, Kenny Vikram, Kichcha Sudeep to name a few.
There are two issues, one- these actors are like demi gods in south and they don’t want to be treated like commoners. Only actor from southern cinema who has reasonable success in bollywood is Rajini sir.
But with backing of likes of Hirani, i am sure that wont be a problem.

I think south superstars like mahesh babu, vijay,surya,nagarjuna,ram charan & allu arjun etc are more big stars than bollywood superstars because of their technology. Some above mention superstars all movies are either hit or super hit

The year gone by was a disappointing one with only a few films film doing well and only 2-3 films becoming big hits. The hope will that 2016 will stop this downtrend which has been going for the last two years. The list below is for the top films of 2016. Its not saying the below films will be the top grossers of the year as that is impossible to judge because content decides that. They should be the top initial takers of the year though a surprise or two will always pop up.
1. Sultan – July 2016
2. Dangal – December 2016
3. Raees – July 2016
4. Dishoom – July 2016
5. Housefull 2 / Great Grand Masti – June 2016 / March 2016.
The above six films should all be initials of between 15-30 crore on the basis of a solo release and a non holiday release. Obviously competition and a non holiday will alter the numbers.
The other films which can take a good initial are the two Tiger Shroff starrers Baaghi and The Flying Jatt, the action factor with a young star is a plus and good music will ensure a strong opening day numbers.
There will be many films with chances on content but the two stand outs which can go very big will be Fan and Mirziya. Fan simply because it stars Shahrukh Khan and although the opening won’t be like a Shahrukh Khan film but if content is there the popularity of Shahrukh Khan will ensure it sustains at much higher levels than the normal content film.
Mirziya is a modern adaptation Mirza – Sahiban a huge popular romantic tale set in the Mughal times in North India. Basically blockbuster material for North India if presented well and the newcomers can act. It has chances to do 50 crore nett in North alone and with that sort of number even if the rest are not so big, a three digit final number is there for the taking. It should emerge the biggest newcomer film ever in terms of business unless makers adapt the content poorly or newcomers are not up to it.
The losers as usual will come in truckloads and in an industry where film makers of today just like to cater to the 75 odd premium multiplexes with the rom-com genre and thriller genre that is bound to happen.
