Happy New Year has collected Rs 13.17 crore on its 5th day at the box office, which is about the same as we estimated late last night. The film is steady at the box office and the Shahrukh Khan starrer will go on to be one of the biggest grossers of all-time, but more was expected out of the film after a record-breaking opening day of 44.97 crore.
Happy New Year has collected Rs 137.04 crore in 5 days and should collect close to 160 crore at the end of Week 1, which will make it the second highest first week grosser this year and the 4th highest of all time.
SRK’s last release Chennai Express collected 156 crore in its first week and finished with lifetime business of 227 crore. Will Happy New Year get there? That question will be answered this coming Saturday and Sunday.

@ imran- actually i am tutor so learn maths from me acording to ur equation producer figure-trade figure = 28. so 232-212= 28!!! but acording to my knowledge its producer figure is 233 and trade figure is 215. so 233-215= 18 crore only. and if u ask to trade why this difference they can explain better. so concentrate on your maths child.

Please read by comment just above yours and try to stop making fool of yourself…BOI use to give the collection of Hindi version only…that’s why there is a difference of 17 crores in 5 days and here I want to mention one more point that day by day Bollywood is growing in terms of screen so difference between BOI and producer figure will increase with each passing year but more than 25-30 crores is not acceptable right now.
Lastly i want to say thay Following any actor is good but thrashing others are not gentelmen quality and this is also not liked either by Salman khan or Shahrukh khan…

I had in fact commented about this in one of the HNY article. See 137 crores in 5 days is not the problem. The trend which it is following is unbelievable. Almost all the trade analysts had predicted that the movie should collect something around 250 to 300 crores.
Indicine in their own prediction mentioned that the film may find it tough to cross 200 crores if word of mouth is bad. Except Chennai Express almost all the Srk starrers in recent times are falling way short of expectations. And mind you these expectations are from professional analysts not his fans.
This affects both your star power and your reputation. So for me there is no “king” of boxoffice in bollywood. Every big star is breaking records in a period of 3 to 4 months. Be it Salman, SRK, Aamir, Hrithik or Ajay. Thats just my point of view. Opinions may differ.
BOI states 120…..wassup with that. 120 is nothing after 45 crore opening. Crap is crap and SRK looks old. All that make up cannot hide it. How long will these 50 yr old try to play college kids?
