Happy New Year has picked up by around 30-40% on its 12th day at the box office, as Tuesday was a holiday in parts of the country Muharram. The film has collected Rs 3.75 – 4 crore to take its lifetime total to Rs 186.5 crore net.
The Shahrukh Khan Diwali release has also emerged as the highest grosser of 2014 in the overseas markets, beating the lifetime overseas collections of Bang Bang.
Happy New Year has an outside chance of going past ‘Kick’ as the biggest worldwide grosser of 2014. Kick grossed Rs 376 crore worldwide and Happy New Year has so far grossed Rs 327 crore. If the film picks up over the coming weekend in India and adds around 10-12 crore overseas, it will be the biggest worldwide grosser of 2014.

Surprising growth but may well have been due to holiday. Now if friday release Shaukeens has a good Wom, HNY will be finished. Also a punjabi 3D movie is releasing tomorrow in punjab and Delhi region hence collections of HNY are going to be affected. 200 Cr figure is in danger. Its turning like a cricket match for HNY (where its chasing 200cr) and its likely to fall short as audience has run this film out.

Hny will end up at 197 cr. It will not do more than 7 cr in third week. But red chillis will try their best to cross 200 cr and they wil do it. But they cant make it biggest grosser worldwide.

After two weeks kick’s overseas was 68 cr. Suddenly all stopped posting its overseas collection nd they made that 68 cr as final overseas gross. I dnt knw why it didnt add even 1 cr after that. Taran adarsh was unwell at that time nd he stopped posting after two weeks. And all others too stopped nd made it final. Kick has grossed 75 cr surely in overseas.

Week 1 – 10.3 cr
Week 2 – 3.9 cr
Week 3 – 0.8 cr
Week 4 – 0.16 cr
Week 5 – 0.04 cr
The weekly drops were even bigger in UAE, Pakistan, UK.
All said and done, not a complete disappointment in terms of collections but quite a disappointment in terms of content. SRK is too talented for movies like HNY, just as Aamir Khan is way above the ranks of movies like Dhoom:3. We want to see SRK in evergreen movies like CDI, Veer-Zaara, KKKG …Leave the commercial forgettable movies to Salman Khan, it suits him better.

thanks indicine for clarifying me. So Kick did approx 70 cr. India nett was 233 cr. So India gross will be around 310 cr. In that case worldwide gross will be 380 cr right? Bcoz after first week more ent tax came into play in rajastan so gross wil b more no?
@Sravan, entertainment tax was lower for Kick, slightly higher for all films after August 1st because of Rajasthan. Kick India gross was around 306.5 + 69.5 approx overseas. Worldwide 376 cr.

@true actor It is too late now coz I given this idea to king fans before release of hny and I told all king fans that we should request other star fans to watch hny but maximum king fans said that our kings name is enough for 500 crore worldwide and now we are struggling for even 400 crores worldwide
