Gabbar Is Back has picked up almost all over on Sunday. The film should collect around 14 crore today, as both multiplexes and single-screens have shown good growth.
Business of 14 crore on Sunday would mean a 38-39 crore weekend, which is a below-par total for a film like ‘Gabbar Is Back’. The problem for the film is the competition that it faces from Marathi film ‘Time
Pass 2′ in Maharashtra, Hollywood film ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ at metro cities and also the ongoing IPL matches – which tend to affect business evening onwards.

Without the above mentioned factors, ‘Gabbar Is Back’ would have probably collected around 45 crore in its first weekend, which would’ve been a solid base for the film to eventually cross the 100 crore mark at the domestic box office. Unfortunately, the Akshay Kumar starrer would now have to pass the ‘Monday’ test with no less than flying colours to have any chance of emerging a success.
The two-day collections are at around the same level as ‘Holiday: A Solider Is Never Off Duty’, but that film showed tremendous growth in business on Sunday collecting Rs 16.58 crore and ended its weekend with net box office collections of Rs 40.69 crore. ‘Gabbar Is Back’ is likely to fall a little short of that total.

@ srk, please check the facts before giving any lame comments, WELCOME released along with TAARE ZAMEEN PE and was a blockbuster, TEES MAAR KHAN even though it was a semi hit did a record weekend business, Garam Masala was released along with Kyunk Ki, and was a superhit, even Aitraaz was a hit. Akshays films during 2006-2010 created record openings be it KHAMBAKT ISHQ, BLUE, SINGH IS KING, HE gave 6 consecutive super hits in span of one year, was considered a HIT machine when the khans relied only on festive release, he is an industry itself whose movies have made more than 2500 crores at box office. Bollywood is not only about box office collections, also the related businesses that depend on bollywood films, if the movies are released only in festive weekend then those business will perish, with akshay doing 4 films per year even if those collect 70-80 crores, it has a trickle down effect on those businesses.
I also watch the muvi gabbar, it is a fabulous muvi & I hope it will gain 100 crs.

I watched Gabbar Is Back first day show in Karachi, Pakistan and Friday Saturday and Sunday all three days all shows was Housefull with 90 95 % occupancy in all Multiplexes in Karachi, Pakistan.
I Watched the movie and truly i enjoyed the movie better than Holiday better than Rowdy Rathore and better than Baby, Akshay Sir proved that he is the baap of mass entertainer masala movies.
Thank you Akshay Sir for giving us such an awesome movie, hope it will enter in 100 crore club.

I saw Ranbir,s movie yeh jawani hai deewani is look like copy of Tushar kapoors movie kya dil ne kaha n the movie is hit I want to ask Ranbir fans isn’t it waste of money and time.
