Gabbar Is Back has picked up almost all over on Sunday. The film should collect around 14 crore today, as both multiplexes and single-screens have shown good growth.
Business of 14 crore on Sunday would mean a 38-39 crore weekend, which is a below-par total for a film like ‘Gabbar Is Back’. The problem for the film is the competition that it faces from Marathi film ‘Time
Pass 2′ in Maharashtra, Hollywood film ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ at metro cities and also the ongoing IPL matches – which tend to affect business evening onwards.

Without the above mentioned factors, ‘Gabbar Is Back’ would have probably collected around 45 crore in its first weekend, which would’ve been a solid base for the film to eventually cross the 100 crore mark at the domestic box office. Unfortunately, the Akshay Kumar starrer would now have to pass the ‘Monday’ test with no less than flying colours to have any chance of emerging a success.
The two-day collections are at around the same level as ‘Holiday: A Solider Is Never Off Duty’, but that film showed tremendous growth in business on Sunday collecting Rs 16.58 crore and ended its weekend with net box office collections of Rs 40.69 crore. ‘Gabbar Is Back’ is likely to fall a little short of that total.

If akshay does one movie per year, then movies like Gabbar will easily enter in 200cr club. And, majority of us had perception that a.k does only comedy films. So, review will be more importent than the content. Keep calm. Gabbar has solid content. Will pick up. Hopefully will enter in 150cr club. Nd, waiting for Brothers and Mohenjodaro.

39 crores in a weekend, great, that too for a non festive release and with competition from avengers, time pass and also a film in south and also IPL, this proves the mettle of akshay kumar, haters are just plain jealous, if Fast and furious 7 can make 100 crores then why not gabar which collected more in first weekend, mark my words real test is monday if gabar sustains at 7-8 crores then it will collect 65-70 crores in first week, second weekend will be around 14 crores, second week 25 crores, third week 5-8 crores, lifetime 110 crores, verdict superhit

Watched Gabbar yesterday.. This movie is the fast paced remake of Ramanaa.. Directed by Krish of Allu Arjun’s Vedam fame..
Everything about this movie was great.. Best thing being the editing.. As the original was a drag at places..
A couple of negative points would be.. They should have showed the 5 kids from different religions as in the original.. Also the climax lacked the impact which the original movie had..
My rating would be 3/5 as this movie didn’t bore me at all..
