The first glimpse into Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film ‘Sons Of Sardaar’, previously scheduled to release in theatres during Diwali next year, is out.
The magnum-opus will be made on a massive scale and the production standards will match international action-thrillers.
The film is based on the battle of Saragarhi, which was fought before the Tirah Campaign on 12 September 1897 between British Indian Army and Afghan Orakzai tribesmen. It occurred in the North-West Frontier Province (now in Pakistan).
The British Indian contingent comprised 21 Sikhs of the 36th Sikhs (now the 4th Battalion of the Sikh Regiment), who were stationed at an army post attacked by around 10,000 Afghans. The Sikhs, led by Havildar Ishar Singh (likely to be played by Ajay Devgn), chose to fight to the death, in what is considered by some military historians as one of history’s great last-stands.
The Battle of Saragarhi is one of eight stories of collective bravery published by UNESCO. It has been mentioned as one of the five most significant events of its kind in the world which includes the Battle of Thermopylae associated with the heroic stand of a small Greek force against the mighty Persian Army of Xerxes I in 480 B.C.
Ajay has a interesting lineup of upcoming films which includes his ambitious directorial venture ‘Shivaay’ and his reunion with Milan Luthria and Emraan Hashmi in ‘Baadshaho’.
‘Sons of Sardaar’ doesn’t have a release date, as Ajay’s ‘Golmaal 4’ is scheduled to release during Diwali next year.

Why do they put so much money in Ajay Devgan films ?? This guy never crossed 150 cr even with a big franchise commercial film… He may be a good actor in films like Rajneeti and Drishyam, but he’s not a bankable star.
The contribution of sikhs is very high in india’s indipendence. ..86% of the total “SHAEED” were Sikhs ( bhagat singh etc etc) but still there is Ghandi’s face on rupees. Why? Instead There should be Bhagat singh’s photo.
I hope this film turs out to be like “BORDER” of 1999
He badly needs a hit as only 1 movie out of 5 is hit . No other even crosses 70 crs. Even youngsters are ahead than him…!

The poster is good,but I don’t think he will get solo release like every time somebody clashes with him in festivals…! Come on, Give this guy a solo festival release. He is working from 25 years still everybody finds him a small star ,even he did well in clashes….! I appreciate it

I just don’t find sardaar films interesting and don’t find historical bollywood movies interesting as well…they just have a boring vibe going 4 them…that is why I have skipped every sanjay leela movie after sawariiya haven’t watched baahubali and will not watch mohenjo either

Seriously here time and time it’s said Ajay is a A list superstar, national award winners many people opinion without bias will be positive if it’s about Ajay talent. When he has good scripts no one is even close to him. He proved he can give 30 cr opening atleast, his 2 talked about movies are being termed as magnus opus, it’s said He has nothing to prove again but still some Morons haters are trying to make is think we should believe their thoughts on Ajay not bankable actor? my question is why is he always considered front runners for the biggest release dates? indicine confirmed he Hrithik Aamir Salman Shah Rukh are all the biggest superstar due to their once in a lifetime or several times difficult 30 cr opening while Akki Ranbir are not even on 22 cr mark.
