Shah Rukh Khan’s FAN has collected Rs 4.5 crore, as per early estimates, on Day 6 at the box office. The drop is normal, because Tuesday was a partial holiday for Mahavir Jayanti. But collections are down to low levels for a film that is running on 3500 screens and plenty of shows at multiplexes.
The 6-day total of the film now stands at around 68.5 crore mark and the film should finish its first week with net box office collections of around 72 crore.
The trend is very similar to Akshay Kumar’s Brothers last year, a film that also collected Rs 52.08 crore in its first weekend and 68.22 crore by the end of 6 days. FAN has shown exactly the same trend and the collections of both films are on the same level.

What I noticed is that since 2009 akki has done more niche related film than any other stars. Tasveer would of been brilliant if climax was more better and realistic and made in a reasonable budget.
FAN has flaws in its plot, but which Indian movie doesn’t have weaknesses. I think it was a good try at making a different film. Nonetheless the blockbuster kind of a response was never expected from this movie. Don’t forget that it was better than a Dilwale or a Happy New year or a Kick or a Dabangg or a Dhoom 3 at any given day. But all we (Indian audience) want is masala entertainers. That’s why, Swades, another cult classic is a flop at the BO, however we all never stop saying how good a film that was.So guys, stop bullshitting.. SRK did a different role this time and I must say he aced it with such ease. So, let’s celebrate the acting of SRK – the actor.. and I’m sure he will enthrall us again with his acting prowess when Raees releases. We wanted to see SRK at his best and FAN made sure of that. So it’s a win-win.
Fan deserve more collection
@indicine and all fans of all actors except SRK. We have rubbed enough salt into the wounds of SRK and his fans. Lets give them a break because after the failure of Raees you can apply salt to their wounds again.
Raees is doomed because of SRK fans they have been going on other sites and commenting that only low minded and stupid people watch Salman movies, and that SRK is the only actor who can act. Leave them for the time being they are about to put the last nail in the coffin. They will learn the hard way as with fan.
Its second weekend will save the film. Second week, full disaster. Will still cross 100cr my sixth sense says so. Thursday collection should be in the same range as of Wednesday.
Even Hrithik is ahead of SRK. His Krish 3 collected more than Chennai Express.
SRK was in double roile. In 95% of scenes he was present. Still he failed to deliver. Media created a hype for the movie , so it also failed. YRF tried all the gimicks of marketing and even had Zabra recoded in various languages, but failed. It is the time that SRK , media, YRF should take stock of the situation and improve otherwise history will keep on repeating itself.

FAN crossed 8cr mark in Pakistan yesterday and is looking set end it’s Week in region of 9-9.5cr approx making it biggest Week One of the year and first non-Holiday release ever after Furious 7 to have 9+cr opening Week. It will be third biggest Week One for Hindi films after Dhoom 3 and Dilwale and both these films were festival releases.
FAN left festival releases like Happy New Year, KICK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan way behind in it’s first Week.. Is 3rd highest grosser of 2016 overall after Ho Mann Jahaan and Bachaana.. Will be crossing Bachaana coming Friday. There is local release Hijrat this Week but it won’t create any problem for FAN, then there is a major Hindi film Baaghi coming Week which will be a threat at masses but plexes won’t see a threat.

Our mega star Amitabh bachhan also faced the same situation in mid 90s after Khudah Gawah. Back to back flops. AB wouldn’t be the megastar if he could hv came back as Narayan Shankar in Mahabbatein. Same thing happend with Superstar Rajesh khanna after 1978. So, every real Superstars face this kind of situations. But no matter any of their films work well or not, the superstardom will always there. Fan is not really a failure as after 5 yrs later a SRK movie released with class. His chennai express earned huge but no class. So, Fan is an indication the SRK will work only in classy scripts, which is good.
Fan could have been much better. For instance: Through the entire movie only Aryan was chasing Gaurav but if police and security were too with Aryan then it would have been a true edge of seat thriller. An edge of seat thriller can never be made with less character, it requires many many character and this fact the filmmakers should know. They spoil edge of seat thriller with less characters like BANG BANG.
There was less media coverage in Fan, if there would have been more news, media scenes then it would have been more thrilling. The film could have been commercially made for example: Aryan romancing heroines and his wife meanwhile police and security guards are always around Aryan for security but nothing happened like this. The film could have been much commercial, thrilling, entertaining and PAISA VASOOL.

We are admiring srk because he has shown his powerful acting and same has been praised by everyone. Its business mainly affected because it was unusal SRK film, jungle book movie (which is always considered as 1st choice for family because of its storyline), wrong editng and sad ending. Concept though not like, everyone is praising srk for giving best performance. In any case it would be highest earner in overseas market where songless movies are accepted by the audiance. I have seen FAN and really forgot to blink my eyes nearly for 1 hour during 2nd half. Even SRK himself admitted last year that FAN is not blockbuster type movie.
So , fianly people get wht they want…. A flop from SRK…
