In it’s third year, ETC Bollywood Business Awards has announced categories and nominations for the year 2012. The awards show, with categories like Best Distribution and Promotion, Best Film Marketing, Highest Single Day Collections, Most Profitable Actor/Actress/Director, is different from some of the other popular award shows.
New categories this year include Most Profitable Debut Male and Female, Best Music Company of the Year and Most Successful Music Director.
The nominations for the top grosser include Ek Tha Tiger, Rowdy Rathore, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Agneepath, Barfi, Dabangg 2. In the running for the Most Profitable Actor (Male) are Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor, while Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha, Asin, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor have been nominated for the Most Profitable Actor (Female) title.
It is a very close call for the Most Profitable Debut (Male) category as Ayushmann Khurrana, Arjun Kapoor, Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Prithviraj are nominated. Diana Penty, Alia Bhatt, Ileana D’cruz, Yami Gautam and Esha Gupta compete with each other in the Most Profitable Debut (Female) category.
The competition in the top grossing director category is between Kabir Khan for Ek Tha Tiger, Prabhudheva for Rowdy Rathore, Lt. Yash Chopra for Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Anurag Basu for Barfi!, Arbaaz Khan for Dabangg 2 and Karan Malhotra for Agneepath.
ETC Bollywood Business Awards 2012 / 2013 also bring categories which are usually not a part of any awards in the industry including Box Office Surprise of the Year, the nominations for which are Kahaani, Vicky Donor, English Vinglish, 1920 Evil Returns and Oh My God!
Another example of innovative awards is the Most Profitable Banner award for which Eros International, UTV Motion Pictures, Yash Raj Films, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Fox Star Studios and Dharma Productions are in the race.
The show includes categories like best Film Marketing, Distribution and Promotion, Best Cinema chain of the year, Highest single day collection, Most profitable Actor/Director.
The ETC Business Awards 2012 will be telecast on January 5th 2013 at 7 PM on Zee ETC.
