Akshay Kumar’s Entertainment has collected Rs 10 – 10.5 cr on its first day at the domestic box office, as per early estimates.
The film has under performed at multiplexes in big cities (much like the opening day of Akshay Kumar films like Boss and Holiday), but has done well in circuits like Delhi/UP and East Punjab.
Entertainment has a long way to go before it can recover its costs. The reports are good, so the film could show decent growth in business on Saturday. But unless the growth is 40% or more on Saturday, the film would still rely on its second week business.
Salman Khan’s KICK is still doing pretty well at the box office with net box office collections of around 2.25 crore. Even with the release of Entertainment, KICK is likely to collect around 8 crore in its third weekend.

@Babaji u said akki doesn’t release his films on holidays . . U r wrong , actually when u release ur films on big event , u must have to compete d other big film. Last year akki tried to compete with srk( even though ouatim2 released 7 days after ce) but he failed very badly. I don’t think akki has star powers like The Khans.i agree, He is a superstar but not Khan.

I dont agree with you that Industry is deliberately pulling HR legs,K3 got a full fledged release…But now haider is clashing does not mean that its a conspiracy against HR…..There was a lot of negativity around SRK after RA1 ,till JTHJ but big stars always recover from such situations as only audiences can make a star and only audience can take back your star tag…so dont worry about it

Good collections..I.hope it picks up over the weekend and a healthy 35-36 crore weekend can help it sustain well over the next few days and might be few weeks also
baba, CE is a winner all the way and we dont need your support. CE was released in 3500 screens, lesser ticket price, only 6 days open while kick was released in 4400 screens, higher ticket price, 2 open weeks and collected the same as CE and they say salma bhai is crowd puller lol joke of the century…

That is why he is inflating kick collection by a huge margin in its 3rd week and publishing the 3rd friday collection 2.25 crs though it is 1.25 crs as per boi.. So indicine figure is 80% more than boi.. It seems fake as there was hardly any difference in first two weeks collection between boi and others..

I will watch Entertainment tomorrow. But happy that Kick is still collecting. It will collect 15 Crores in 2nd Week beating beating Lungi Express and can also beat K3 controversial (note: I didn’t call it fake) figure in its lifetime run. It is also many figures are still being compiled.
@Thullu, yeah. In the same vein, we can give same excuses for ETT as it collected 199Crores, just 1 crore short of 200 Crores. We can say if ticket prices had been higher and released in more screens, it would have collected more than CE did a year later. But I will only believe in SRK’s mettle and current stardom he can manage to give another blockbuster with the New Washing Machine being launched in Diwali.
