The Eid period has given the industry and fans several blockbusters over the years. This year is likely to be no different as KICK has opened to outstanding numbers, which should ensure that the film goes on to be Salman Khan’s highest grosser and his first 200 crore grosser.
- Both Chennai Express and Ek Tha Tiger had a better release period than Kick. Chennai Express released after Eid and had three holidays in its first week at the box office – Eid, Sunday, Independence Day. Ek Tha Tiger also had three holidays – Independence Day, Sunday, Eid. KICK released on a non-holiday and has two national holidays – Sunday and Eid.
- KICK has released on significantly higher number of screens 4100, compared to 3300 of Ek Tha Tiger and 3650 screens that Chennai Express released on.
- Chennai Express was the first film to cross 100 crore in its first weekend at the box office, although only after including collections from paid previews.
- Kick was the only film to show growth on its second day at the box office, but that was only because it released on a non-holiday.
- Chennai Express was the only film to compete against a big film like Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara on its 7th day of release. OUATIMD had a limited release on Independence Day.
- Kick is the only film without an established director or leading heroine. Ek Tha Tiger was directed by Kabir Khan (New York) and starred Katrina Kaif (most popular leading lady in 2012). Chennai Express was directed by Rohit Shetty (Singham, Golmaal series) and featured Deepika Padukone (most popular leading lady in 2013)

My Review of ‘Nipin Seniors’ Review-
Well when I read the fool was doing a review and taking a quick glance over his lootera like comment I spotted the word ‘manipulative’ then I got excited…! I was looking forward to reading his half baked opinions for once. Because I thought finally a mosquito fan had done what so many of us bolly fans wanted and that was conduct a review into the ‘manipulative’ collections of Rohit 3…! I thought at last we will get to the truth of the matter and finally understand if Rakesh Sir is a dimwit who couldnt differentiate between Gross and Net. Or is he a crook saying his film is super successful in order to attract fools with larger pockets to invest more crores into his next installment of the X-Men franchise…? Or simply do we blame the dodgy accountant who bought a cheap calculator of ‘faulty remote control’…!
Overall I must say this review by ‘nipin senior’ was completely a waste of the losers time and more importantly a total disregard for the value of everybodys time.
0.1 out of 5- The 0.1 is for the correct spelling of ‘manipulative’….!
I am a big salman fan, dhoom 3 collection is impossible,but if kick crosses 160cr 1st week then kick will end up 230-240cr life time which is great for a film. CE- EID+SRK+DEEPIKA+ROHITSHETTY, DHOOM3-AMIR+YASHRAJ+KATRINA+CHRISTMAS,KICK-SALMAN+EID+SALMAN+SALMAN+SALMAN.
IF kick crosses 230 cr its a big achievement,bcoz i felt kick is totally dependent on salmans stardom.Content wise its average for me.
As of Sunday, even 250 cr+ looks possible. Today, tomorrow and day after tomorrow will decide its fate.

Unfair comparison. But i would say ETT had the biggest buzz among any big films whether it was d3 or CE, it was pre-eid release but its first day collection on non-holiday was almost 9cr higher than Previous best opener Agneepath, screen size was 3300, 350 less than ce and 500 less than d3 but as d3 was a normal release like kick so comparison is only with Ce and ett which was failed to break ett opening record according to trade figure. But Ce was a good entertainer and better film than ETT, so its lifetime is higher. Now Its P.k vs hny this year while Bang-bang too have chance if haider postpone.
Sorry correction in above comment, ett first day collection on national holiday was 9cr higher than previous record holder.

Okay its time for my Review of Kick…. The patience you have shown is commendable and I promise to be as OBJECTIVE as I possibly can despite the fact we all know I am absolutely a bhai fanatic ready to go war with any group of fans in defense of my bhai jaan… But I will endeavour to be as honest as I can so help me God…! Wish me luck.
Ok spoiler alert coming up- my let down of the movie- where are the days of Good guys fighting the Good cops gone…? Back in the 70’s we had movies like Zanjeer and Amar Akbar Anthony which had real tussles between Pran Sir and Amit Ji and Amit Ji again with Vinod Sir in AAA…! This was also a letdown in Dhoom 2 plus 3…. Both Dhoom movies could have done with the good guy bashing up Abhishek (ok I personally want to see Abhi take a beating even if its Tusshar or Shreyas or anybody as I really hate that loser) n in Kick bhai jaan could have gone one on one with Hooda…! On the flip side their comical drunk scene was well shot- too much fun- top work.
The Songs- the Jumme Ki Raat (spoiler alert) should have been with Devi Lal and not Devil…. Complete mismatch- Ok Devi Lal already featured in Hangover song but Devil had the well choreographed ‘Yaar Naa Miley’ track based on him so no need to give Devil another needless song IMO. Dont know if he was trying to woo Shaina so just felt odd. Great song but out of place in movie timeline.
Action- the bus scene (no spoiler alert needed here as its in the trailer) falls of the bridge and crashes into the river. Ok perfect opportunity for Sajid to shoot an underwater scene in the same way Reema shot Aamirs car crash end shot in Talaash…! Would have been nice to see Bhai jaan swim. Could have gone back in a flashback scene explaining how bhai escapes wheen Hooda catches up with him in that bar where bhai is dancing to that beautiful ‘saat samundar’ track. (Sajids ex deceased wife Divya would have been proud of that dance I bet.) Just felt like an opportunity had gone begging for Sajid to truly do something spectacular.
The 40th floor jump sequence was amazing. The bus chase not so- sorry to say it was just not top draw- left alot to be desired and theres room for improvement there for Sajids next.
Romance- no qualms here- hangover track is enough romance for this film- that was beautifully choreographed and the picturisation was out of this world. Jacqueline looked truly beautiful.
Comedy- Devi Lal stole the show for the most part but Nawazuddins scene with his uncle n tyagi in the limousine was hilarious. Truly that was sarcasm at its best and certain readers here can learn sarcastic rhetoric from the man himself.
Ending- (spoiler alert) it had everyone in stitches and was perfect for the movie- only person who can stop Devil is Devi Lal himself…. What more can one say. Epic way to end the movie.
My rating 3 out of 5- great songs, well choreographed songs, great casting of Nawaz bhai and Randeep, Jacqueline looked beautiful in every scene and those spectacles of her made her too desirable, Mithun Sir was good in his opening scene- too much fun and finally bhai stole the show not once but twice in his two personas…. A real entertainer and sure shot winner. Enjoy bhai fans.
